The Handbook of Human Ownership - A Manual for New Tax Farmers

Text/Audiobook: www.fdrurl.com Audiobook: www.fdrurl.com Hey -- seriously - congratulations on your new political post! If you are reading this, it means that you have ascended to the highest levels of government, so it's really, really important that you don't do or say anything stupid, and screw things up for the rest of us. The first thing to remember is that you are a figurehead, about as relevant to the direction of the state as a hood ornament is to the direction of a car -- but you are a very important distraction, the "smiling face" of the fist of power. So hold your nose, kiss the babies, and just think how good you would look on a stamp. Now, before we go into your media responsibilities, you must understand the true history of political power, so you don't accidentally act on the naive idealism you are required to project to the general public. The reality of political power is very simple: bad farmers own crops and livestock -- good farmers own human beings... --- A free book by Stefan Molyneux, host of Freedomain Radio, the largest and most popular philosophy show on the web -- www.freedomainradio.com

Estate Tax Laws May Take Family Farm

Members of North Carolina's Revenue Laws Committee are considering drafted legislation to repeal the state's death tax. North Carolina's death tax is tied to the federal estate tax. Thus, as of Jan. 1, 2013, both the federal and the state tax will be applied to estates with assets of $1 million or more (the previous exemption was $5million). The lower exemption means that more and more small businesses and family farms will be subjected to the tax, jeopardizing the rights of the owners to pass down their property to their heirs. State lawmakers are concerned about the loss of revenue to the state if the estate tax is repealed, but the amount collected will amount to less than one percent of state revenue. To be sure, the death tax has a real impact on real families. View the three minute video below to see the stories of two North Carolina farming families concerned that the death tax may force them to give up the farmland that had been in their family for generations.

Why are Ohio farmers and landowners experiencing increased CAUV values?

Some rural landowners whose property is taxed through Current Agricultural Use Valuation (CAUV) program have been shocked to see increases in their current rates. CAUV allows land to be taxed based on its agricultural value, rather than fair market value, with its formula based on land value on cropping patterns, crop prices, crop yield, non-land production costs and a capitalization rate. According to Ohio Farm Bureau Federation Director of Legal Education Leah Curtis and Ohio Farm Bureau contractor Larry Gearhardt, there are legitimate reasons behind the increase in CAUV values.

Emissions Trading Scheme - the truth

Federated Farmers President, Don Nicolson, being interviewed on Rural Delivery on 19 June 2010 about the ETS. Puts up a convincing argument that the costs keep changing week-by-week. ETS appears to be stealth tax with no indicators to indicate a policy that will cost New Zealanders over $1.5 billion in just its first year from 1 July. He also asks why the National-led Government has done a 180 degree turn after backing farmers in 2003 (FART Tax), 2005 (Carbon Tax) and 2008 (the ETS when in Opposition).

90 seconds at 9 am: Landcorp bid for Crafar Farms?; Euro bank rescue fund; Mining tax backdown?

Bernard Hickey details the key news overnight in 90 seconds at 9 am in association with the BNZ, including news from the Dominion Post that Landcorp Chairman Jim Sutton, a former Labour Agriculture Minister, has confirmed that the state-owned farming company is doing due diligence for a bid to buy the 16 Crafar farms being sold by the receivers. If successful, such a bid would trump that by Chinese-backed UBNZ and May Wang. Meanwhile in the United States, renewed signs of economic recovery emerged with stronger than expected durable goods orders and better new home sales. But these figures covered the period before the onset of the European Sovereign Debt crisis and worries over the euro zone continue to drag on sentiment in global markets. The Dow is down in late trade and may close under 10000 on talk that China would cut its holdings of European bonds, Bloomberg reported. In Europe, the European Commission announced a plan overnight to create a fund or series of funds to deal with banking collapses in Europe, the BBC reported. The funds could have up to US$120 billion and be funded by a levy on the banks themselves. Meanwhile in Australia, there is talk that Prime Minister Kevin Rudd is trying to water down his proposal for a 40% 'Super-tax' on mining, The Australian reports. There is speculation he could change a threshold for the tax, although miners say it is just tinkering at the edges and have renewed their warnings that the tax could stop A$100 billion worth of ...

In return, they are given a tax credit worth about 25 percent of the value of the land which they may use to offset their own tax expenses or sell to someone else.

GROUND ZERO, AUSTRALIA - ANGEL DUST & DEATH.

This is just my contribution so to speak, that will hopefully open some eyes out there and see for yourself what is going on. I would love to be proven wrong, along with the thousands of others out there who are awake to this. When you look around the world, and see the huge increase of so called "natural" disasters, and then go researching, things look very grim. Here in Australia, we have seen our fair share. To see Cyclone Yasi, then to see Yasi on the start of a documentary about the use of Haarp, then to see the massive floods, from last year to this year, then to read articles mentioning "well known for fertile soil" such as the Lockyer Valley,(which is in the top 10 most fertile lands in the world) which got annihilated with floods or a "weather bomb", then to see Mildura, which has had huge dumpings of rain, which is also a major agriculture centre it really makes you start to awaken. Only recently, in the North Island of NZ and in Townsville, Queensland, Australia, they had very similar "weather bombs", hard, hitting short bursts of furious weather. Trees torn down, roofs peeled off and even concrete fence posts with wire runs, with NO wind catch on them what so ever, blown over 45 degrees. Even sign posts snapping at the bases.... then to see odd images on radar satellites, days before, you got to scratch ya head. The easy excuse here in Qld, is its the wet season, which do bring storms but there's more to it than meets the eye. Look at where these storms hit, a ...

marijuana farming in California

Toxic agricultural runoff is never a good thing, but it's worse when it comes from illegal marijuana groves. However, California, home to more than 900 groves, wonders if it might not be better for everyone simply to chill out and go with it. Obama Agrees to Extend Tax Cuts for 2 Years

I'm Alex Villarreal with the VOA Special English Economics Report, from voaspecialenglish.com | http President Obama announced an agreement with congressional Republicans in December. It would extend for two years the tax cuts put in place by former president George W. Bush. The tax cuts were to end in January. The compromise extends current income tax rates for all Americans for two years. That includes rates for the richest Americans. The agreement also cuts workers' Social Security taxes by two percentage points. Social Security is retirement insurance paid by almost all American workers and employers. The so-called payroll tax holiday would save a family earning fifty thousand dollars about one thousand dollars a year. For the president, the most important part of the compromise was the extension of aid payments to unemployed Americans for thirteen months. In November, the jobless rate increased by two-tenths of a percent to nine point eight percent. Economists say payments to unemployed people directly help the economy because they spend the money immediately. This has led some experts to call the agreement a stimulus measure meant to improve the economy. President Obama said he accepted the compromise because he wanted to help unemployed Americans. But the president faced strong opposition from his own party. Some Democrats objected to keeping tax cuts for the rich at a time when the government is struggling with deep budget deficits. The extension of the tax cuts ...
