Bishop Chito Tagle Sings
A Concert was held at La Salette Shrine, Biga, Silang, Cavite (Philippines). It was for the benefit of Bantay Bata, or children of the poor under a Diocesan Work. The star of the the show was our own bishop. But the priests of the diocese also beautifully sang and danced. I was glad I had a videocam and recorded the evening. The lighting condition was poor so I had to use manual aperture settings. The audience was surprised and awed by the display of talent by these anointed servants.

Jose Tagle belonged to one of the best families in Spain and was a soldier in the Spanish Army. During his service, he rose to the position of Treasurer to the Spanish Royal Fleet. Because of his service and loyalty to the Spanish Crown, King Philip V of Spain gave him the title Marquis of Torre Tagle and Supreme Delegate of the Spanish Crown, making him the most powerful man outside the Royal Court. King Philip V also gave the Marquis permission to marry his daughter and thus stregnthening his relationship with the Royal Family.

The Diocese of Imus (Church of the Province of Cavite, Philippines) celebrates its Golden Jubilee this year, 2011. And the theme of the celebration is the Philippine religious dance called KARAKOL. But KARAKOL is not a mere dance in the Golden Jubilee, rather, it has become the acronym of a Diocesan Pastoral Program. KA stands for KA-hapong kay yaman (50 years of grace we are grateful for), RA stands for RA-dikal na Pagsunod kay Kristo (radical following of Christ) and KOL stands for KOL-ektibong Pagkilos (community working hand in hand, together). Thus, the Golden Jubilee of the Diocese of Imus is not a mere short period of rituals, ceremonies and feastings. Rather, it is a fresh beginning of a more mature life of mission that should develop until the Diocese' Diamond Jubilee (75 years) and beyond. The Diocese aims to live out its KARAKOL PASTORAL PROGRAM.
