Syd Barrett - Baby Lemonade
Another brand new video, this time of Syd Barrett's 'Baby Lemonade' from his second and final solo album, 'Barrett'. 'Baby Lemonade' was written and recorded by Syd Barrett in 1970 and is the opening track on 'Barrett'. Dave Gilmour and along with Richard Wright produced the album, as well as performing guitar, bass, organ and piano on the album. The album takes a different direction away from the erratic style of 'The Madcap Laughs', with 'Barrett' adapting a more commercial sound, due to the influence of Gilmour and Wright. While 'Barrett' is a much more tighter and focused album, it still contains elements of Syd's bizarre nature. The recording took less time to produce than 'The Madcap Laughs', and the final album was released in November 1970. Unfortunately, the album sparked no interest and failed to chart. Between 1971 and 1974, Syd Barrett attempted several music projects, including a band in 1972 called 'Stars'. The band was short-lived after only three live performances. In 1974, Syd Barrett recorded for the last time, recording only a few instrumentals before walking away from music forever. Most of the images used in this video were photographed by Mick Rock in 1970. I do not own the copyright for the audio or vision. This is a fan edit done under the 'fair use' provision laws. BLADE RUNNER artist Syd Mead (BBtv interview)
The 1982 cyberpunk cinema classic Blade Runner remains one of the most influential science fiction movies of all time, and tops many a nerd's favorite films list. Today on Boing Boing tv, Boing Boing Gadgets editor Joel Johnson visits the studio of artist and futurist Syd Mead, who designed the film's dystopian look and feel. We learn about the "erotic machine" he dreamed for the replicant Zhora (this breast-shaped dreampod was cut from the script when director Ridley Scott ran out of dough), the 1 2 3 *4* alternate opening scenes designed by Syd (one of them, which involved shoveling dead bodies, was deemed "too Holocaust"), what really lights up those building facades, and many more secrets. Syd explains he envisioned the world of Blade Runner as a place "you wouldn't want to be for too long," and describes the challenges of designing for "a love story with moralistic underpinnings... if we could actually make people, would we treat them like dishwashers? Just use them up and throw them away?" Boing Boing tv online: tv.boingboing.net
Syd Barrett - Dominoes
It's an idea, someday in my tears, my dreams don't you want to see her proof? Life that comes of no harm you and I, you and I and dominoes, the day goes by... You and I in place wasting time on dominoes a day so dark, so warm life that comes of no harm you and I and dominoes, time goes by... Fireworks and heat, someday hold a shell, a stick or play overheard a lark today losing when my mind's astray don't you want to know with your pretty hair stretch your hand, glad feel, in an echo for your way. It's an idea, someday... It's an idea, someday in my tears, my dreams don't you want to see her proof? Life that comes of no harm you and I, you and I and dominoes, the day goes by... I do not ow any copyright to any songs by Syd Barrett. My first video enjoy. 1/12/09 10 veiws 1/14/09 100 veiws

SYD BARRETT NO GOOD TRYING
SYD BARRETT The Madcap laughs recorded 1968-1969 KALIEDOSCOPE VIDEO 'NO GOOD TRYING' FEATURING THE PHOTOS OF MICK ROCK A HOWARD BE THY NAME PRODUCTION HOWARD STOREY The Madcap Laughs is Syd Barrett's first solo album after being replaced in Pink Floyd by his old school friend David Gilmour. The title of the album comes from a line in the song Octopus. After leaving the group, Barrett began recording sessions with former Pink Floyd-turned-Syd Barrett manager Peter Jenner in May 1968. Although the sessions were brief, and they produced some fine material, the project was abandoned for almost a year while Barrett spent much of the year as a recluse.

Sydney Flash Mob Freeze - Jun 24 2008 - Official Video
The official video of the successful Sydney Flash Mob Freeze staged on June 24th 2008 by the www.sydneyflashmob.com crew, and inspired by Improv Everywhere. The event attracted over 2200 'mobbers' to Hyde Park in Sydney at 12 midday, and the group was split up across two locations: Martin Place and Pitt Street Mall. After synchronising watches, all participants made their way to their locations and blended in with the general busy daytime public, and at exactly 12:40pm all participants froze mid-pose, and then suddenly re-animated at exactly 12:43. The event received national news coverage, and thanks to the success of this event we do plan bigger and better things for the future so stay tuned! For more details and other events visit: www.sydneyflashmob.com Special thanks to Sydney's Channel 7, ABC, Channel 10 and 2Day FM for their footage as well! FYI sydneyflashmob.com is in no way affiliated with the Sydney arm of the Improv Everywhere global crew or the urban prankster network. We are a different group entirely.
Syd Barrett- Here I Go
This is a story 'bout a girl that I knew she didn't like my songs and that made me feel blue she said: "a big band is far better than you"...
Golden Hair by Syd Barrett
The most beautiful song in the world, with words adapted from a James Joyce poem in his collection Chamber Music. Also one of the best settings of a poem EVER! It's also the theme of Tom Stoppard's play, Rock N' Roll. Shine on brightly, Roger Keith Barrett.

Stephen Fry Live At The Sydney Opera House: 2010 (Part One)
A great English icon visited an Aussie one when Stephen Fry came to the Sydney Opera House to discuss travel, language, the three W's (Wilde, Waugh and Wodehouse) and everything in between, in a 90 minute talk-fest. The night involved a cracking 45 minute chat by Fry and then a 45 minute Q&A with First Tuesday Book Club's Jennifer Byrne. A true polymath and the epitome of a Renaissance Man, Stephen Fry is a natural treasure in his native land of England. A writer, presenter, social commentator, satirist, actor and TV personality, Fry's diverse interests and enthusiasms have seen him become one of a small handful of global cultural figures who have a significant presence in every form of media; radio, TV, film, print and online. Better known for playing the lead in the film Wilde, Fry was Melchett in the Blackadder television series and is the host of the ABC TV quiz show, QI. He also presented the television series Stephen Fry In America, which saw him travelling across all 50 US States in a London cab. Apart from his work in television, Fry has contributed columns and articles for newspapers and magazines, and has written four novels and an autobiography, Moab Is My Washpot and appears frequently on BBC Radio. Fry wields considerable influence through his use of the social networking site Twitter and is frequently asked to promote various charities and causes, often inadvertently causing the host website to crash due to the sheer volume of traffic generated by his large ...
Pink Floyd "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" Syd Barrett Tribute
Just something simple for people to put on their MySpaces, etc. This is the version from the old VHS tape of Pulse (which IMHO had much better camera angles than the new DVD). The beginning and one verse from the middle (at 6:13) had to be edited out to fit it into YouTube's 10 min. requirement. But the whole movie they showed at the concert is here since it's probably supposed to represent Syd's life (or anybody's).... This is from Earl's Court, London in October of 1994.
Pink Floyd - Vegetable Man (Syd Barrett)
This is my last Pink Floyd music video, and once again I've used another unreleased track intended for the second Pink Floyd album, 'A Saucerful Of Secrets'. 'Vegetable Man' was written by Syd Barrett in 1967 and recorded around the same time as 'Jugband Blues'. Barrett who had been the leading force behind the band since the mid 60's, now became unstable due to the pressures of touring, countless TV appearances and studio recordings. Things continued to get worse as Barrett took large quantities of LSD which made him completely non-functional, this worried the band as he was the main composer. As time moved on, the pressure increased on Barrett to write material for the new album, while he continued to write, most songs were rejected by the band (some of these songs would eventually turn up on Barrett's first solo album, 'The Madcap Laughs'), but they attempted a few of his new compositions. These songs included, 'Vegetable Man, Scream Thy Last Scream, In The Beechwoods, She's A Millionaire and Have You Got It Yet?' Barrett became even more erratic when attempting to record, 'Have You Got It Yet?', where he would constantly change the structure of the song, which annoyed the band who didn't understand Barrett's idiosyncratic sense of humour, thus the title of song. This was Barrett's last straw, he could not continue on touring or appearing with the band, while negotiations were made for him to write and record only, Barrett was too deeply effected by excessive drug ...

Fallout 3 All Unique Weapons - Sydney's 10mm Ultra SMG & side quest "Stealing Independence" part1of2
Part 1 of 2. The weapon is in the second part. Unique 10mm SMG. Although the Lone Wanderer will make comment on never before having seen a gun like Sydney's SMG ("Nice gun. I've never seen one like that."), its appearance is actually identical to the regular 10mm SMG. It can be looted from her by pick-pocketing, waiting for her to die, or killing her yourself. This weapon can also be acquired by finding A Note from Little Moonbeam's Father within the ruins of the hotel in the quest Reilly's Rangers. During the mission, be sure to check the side rooms until you find a skeleton on one of the beds. You'll find an assault rifle under the bed, some ammo next to it, and the voice tape on the bed next to or under the corpse. Go back to Sydney after finding it in Rivet City and she will tell you it was from her father, that he was attempting to make one big deal and set her up for life, but was double crossed. Realizing she was wrong about her father, she will give you the gun. Note however that this can only be done AFTER returning the Declaration to Washington. After speaking to her in Rivet City, she will move to Underworld and become a weapons merchant there. Sydney's Ultra SMG is significantly more powerful than a regular SMG (59 damage compared to 37), as well as having a much larger ammo capacity (20 extra rounds per magazine). It is also worth an additional 200 caps. Sydney's special weapon degrades at a much faster rate than the standard version. Be prepared to spend ...
Syd Barrett - Octopus
I'm back with a brand new video, this time with Syd Barrett's Octopus from his 1970 solo debut, 'The Madcap Laughs'. 'Octopus', also known as 'Clowns and Jugglers', was written by Syd Barrett in 1968, and eventually recorded in June 1969. The song is also notable for being his only solo single with "Golden Hair" as the B-Side, released on November 14, two months before the album. After leaving Pink Floyd in 1968, Syd Barrett attempted to record new material throughout 1968 to 1969 at Abbey Road Studios. Peter Jenner, with ex-manager of Pink Floyd, helped produced some of these sessions. While many of the sessions failed to kick off, eventually Malcolm Jones, an EMI executive, helped Syd to complete some of the songs for the new album. The session musicians for 'The Madcap Laughs' featured musicians from bands such as, 'The Soft Machine' and 'Humble Pie'. While Syd still remained erratic, he managed to successfully complete most of the recordings produced by Jones. Eventually, Jones left the production on the album and Dave Gilmour along with Roger Waters came to produce the rest of album. Gilmour and Waters also provided extra overdubs to Barrett's songs playing bass and guitar. After several months, the album was finally released on January the 3rd, 1970, and was fairly well-reviewed by critics at the time. The footage was ultilized from two sources, 'Pink Floyd - Jugband Blues Promo, 1967' and 'Syd Barrett's Home Movie, 1970'. I do not own the copyright for the audio or ...

She misses her crawl far ley grew heady aside in a dell inside an eye be the lonely one, my bride how I leave on the waddling wheel they flail... a gasp shringing a bad bell's ringing the angel - the daughter... You feel me...
Syd Barrett - No Good Trying
From The Madcap Laughs It's no good trying to place your hand where I can't see because I understand that you're different from me yes I can tell that you can't be what you pretend and you're rocking me backwards and you're rocking towards the red and yellow mane of a stallion horse. It's no good trying to hold your love where I can't see because I understand that you're different from me yes I can tell that you can't be what you pretend the caterpillar* hood won't cover the head of you know you should be home in bed. It's no good holding your sequin fan where I can't see because I understand that you're different from me yes I can tell that you can't be what you pretend yes you're spinning around and around in a car with electric lights flashing very fast... * An immature stage of an insect that develops into a moth or butterfly through metamorphosis.
