Rolling Stones - Under My Thumb
\ In the early 1950s Keith Richards and Mick Jagger were boyhood friends and classmates at Wentworth Primary School in Dartford, Kent until their families moved apart. In 1960 when Richards, on his way to class at Sidcup Art College, and Jagger, on his way to class at London School of Economics, met at Dartford train station, the Chuck Berry and Muddy Waters records Jagger carried revealed a mutual interest leading to the re-establishment of their friendship and the formation of a band with Dick Taylor (later of Pretty Things). Richards, Taylor and Jagger found Brian Jones as he sat in playing slide guitar with Alexis Korner's seminal London R&B band, Blues Incorporated. Blues Incorporated contained two other future members of the Rolling Stones: Ian Stewart and Charlie Watts. Stewart found a practice space and joined with Jones to start a R&B band playing Chicago Blues. Besides Stewart, Jones and Jagger, the first rehearsal of the as-yet-unnamed band also included Richards attending at Jagger's behest. Other participants were guitarist Geoff Bradford and vocalist Brian Knight, who objected to the rock 'n roll material Jagger and Richards played and wanted no part of forming a band with them. In June 1962 the line-up was: Jagger, Richards, Stewart, Jones, Taylor, and drummer Tony Chapman. According to Richards, Jones christened the band during a phone call to Jazz News. When asked for a band name Jones saw a Muddy Waters LP lying on the floor of which one of the tracks ...

Wild Horses - Rolling Stones
Childhood living is easy to do The things you wanted I bought them for you Graceless lady you know who I am You know I can't let you slide through my hands Wild horses, couldn't drag me away Wild wild horses couldn't drag me away I watched you suffer a dull aching pain Now you decided to show me the same No sweeping exits or off stage lines Could make me feel bitter or treat you unkind Wild horses, couldn't drag me away Wild wild horses couldn't drag me away I know I've dreamed you a sin and a lie I have my freedom but I don't have much time Faith has been broken tears must be cried Let's do some living after we die Wild horses, couldn't drag me away Wild wild horses we'll ride them someday Wild horses, couldn't drag me away Wild wild horses we'll ride them someday

The Rolling Stones, Shine a Light
'Shine a Light', from 'Exile on Main St.' (c)&(p) 1972 Rolling Stones/Virgin Records Saw you stretched out in room Ten O Nine With a smile on your face and a tear right in your eye Couldn't see to get a line on you My sweet honey love Berber jewlry jangling down the street Make you shut your eyes at every woman that you meet Couldn't not seem to get a high on you My sweet honey love May the good lord shine a light on you Make every song your favourite tune May the good lord shine a light on you Warm like the evening sun Well, you're drunk in the alley, baby With your clothes all torn And your late night friends Leave you in the cold grey dawn Just seemed too many flies on you I just can't brush them off Angels beating all their wings in time With smiles on their faces And a gleam right in their eyes Thought I heard one sigh for you Come on up, come on up, now Come on up, now May the good lord shine a light on you Make every song you sing your favourite tune May the good lord shine a light on you Warm like the evening sun

I found this on VHS video - but it rocks none the less! Piece of Rock and Roll History. The Rolling Stones are an English rock band formed in April 1962 by guitarist and harmonica player Brian Jones, pianist Ian Stewart, vocalist Mick Jagger and guitarist Keith Richards. Bassist Bill Wyman and drummer Charlie Watts completed the early lineup. Jones was initially the band's leader, but after Jagger and Richards became co-songwriters of international hits for the band, they assumed control. Jones, whose contributions to recording had progressively dwindled and who was unable to tour, left the band by mutual agreement. Shortly before Jones' untimely death in 1969, Mick Taylor joined the Rolling Stones on guitar. Taylor left in 1974 and was replaced by Ronnie Wood. Stewart was taken from the official lineup in 1963 to continue as the band's road manager and occasional keyboardist until his death in 1985. Wyman left in 1990 and was replaced by Darryl Jones as the primary bassist. After ...

Down The Way (2010) If I talk real slowly If I try real hard To make my point dear, That you have my heart. Here I go I'll tell you, what you already know. Here I go. If you love me, I'll make you a star in my universe. you'll never have to go to work. you'll spend everyday, shining your light my way. If you love me, with all that you are. If you love me I'll make you a star in my universe you'll never have to go to work. you'll spend everyday, shining your light my way. Here I go I'll tell you, what you already know. Here I go. I'll tell you, what you already know. If you love me, with all of your heart. The Rolling Stones - Let's Spend the Night Together
Sympathy For The Devil, The Rolling Stones, Rock and Roll Circus, 1968
This performance is on 11th December 1968 for the film special 'Rock and Roll Circus'. The song was originally released on 6th December 1968 on the album Beggars Banquet. Apparently Mick Jagger was unhappy with the Rolling Stones' performance on the night, but I think this version is awesome-Jagger is as animated as ever! This song also has Rocki Dzidzornu on congas and Nicky Hopkins on piano. This was the last performance of Brian Jones with the Rolling Stones, incidentally playing the maracas! Marianne Faithful told the Telegraph in 2011 that Mick Jagger wrote this song after reading a Russian novel about Satan that she gave him. The name of the novel: The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov. Watching on are some fellow performers from the evening including John Lennon, Pete Townsend and Eric Clapton; another great song from this concert was Lennon playing Yer Blues with Clapton on lead guitar. Some folks subsequently thought that the Stones were devil worshipers and the sort after releasing this, which only goes to show how sensitive and literal in their interpretation people could be back then. I suppose some people still are. Anyway, I couldn't see this version of Sympathy for the Devil on youtube and I think it deserves to be in the public domain as it could be argued that it is a piece of rock history! I would recommend the whole DVD as it has some great performances on it! Disclaimer: "Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976 ...

ROLLING STONES - Carol - 1964
ROLLING STONES - Oh Carol. One of the Rolling Stones earliest TV appearances in the US... on The Mike Douglas How. "Oh Carol" appears to be live. That song is followed by the Stones lip-syncing "Tell Me." Next is some silly banter between the boys and the host, who then invites onstage a couple of out-of-control girls from the audience. Be sure to click on the link and the very end of the clip for the final song, "Not Fade Away."

Rolling Stones "Sympathy For The Devil" ~ FULL Studio Sessions ~ Beggars Banquet
Rolling Stones: "Sympathy For The Devil," Beggars Banquet Studio Sessions, Olympic Sound Studios, London, 1968. The working title of the song was "The Devil Is My Name," In the film, the group goes through several iterations of the song, from almost a bluesy, folky ballad (similar to "Jigsaw Puzzle") to the freaked-out samba it ultimately became. During the sessions the words were changed from "who killed Kennedy?" to "who killed the Kennedy's?" after the assassination of Robert Kennedy. It was Richards who came up with the song's Samba arrangement, playing both bass and lead guitar. The druggy dissolution of Brian Jones is seen unvarnished in the film, his usefulness in the studio coming to an end (he is not heard on the finished track). Marianne faithful, Anita Pallenberg, Brian Jones, Charlie Watts, producer Jimmy Miller, Bill Wyman, Keith Richards are seen recording back up vocals but the "Whoo Whoo" backing vocals were overdubbed in Los Angeles by producer Jimmy Miller, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards alone.
