stereophonics - dakota
"Dakota" is a song by the Welsh band Stereophonics. It was the first single from their fifth studio album Language. Sex. Violence. Other? and was released on February 28, 2005. It was the first Stereophonics single to reach #1 on the UK Singles Chart or to chart on the US Modern Rock Tracks chart. The song spent a total of 20 weeks on the UK singles chart, and it also topped the download chart, remaining on the chart for 22 weeks, half of which were spent in the top 10. The single received good reviews, James Masterton calling it the single of the year. "Dakota" was the first Stereophonics single to achieve success on alternative rock radio stations in the United States, and as such represents their American breakthrough single.[citation needed] Before "Dakota", no Stereophonics single had charted on any rock charts in the US After its release in February, the single steadily gained ground on US alternative rock radio. However, since the Stereophonics lacked a fanbase or previous popular success in America, the single was at a great disadvantage and was initially added to very few station playlists. Nevertheless, the popularity of the song and its championing by such stations as WBCN led "Dakota" slowly to gain airplay and playlist adds across the country over a period of many months. It became one of the 50 most-played songs in the US by mid-May 2005. However, the song lingered just within the top 50 for months and seemed destined to just miss the Modern Rock Tracks ...

Stereophonics - Could You Be The One - Official Music Video (HD)
Stereophonics kick off what is set to be a big year for the band in sublime style with their instantly memorable new single Could You Be The One, released February 15th on Mercury Records. Written by Kelly Jones and produced by Kelly with Jim Abbiss (Kasabian and Arctic Monkeys) Could You Be The One is a beautifully delicate track hinged on rich harmonies and stuffed with sweet sentiments. I knew there was something in the melody, says Kelly. I was trying to keep it beautiful rather than piling in for a big chorus. Could You Be The One is taken from the brand new studio album Keep Calm and Carry On available now! Stereophonics - Nothing Compares To You
Lyrics: It's been seven hours and fifteen days since you took your love away I go out every night and sleep all day since you took your love away since you've been gone I can do whatever I want I can see whoever I choose I can eat my dinner in a fancy restaurant-but nothing I said nothing can take away these blues, 'cause nothing compares nothing compares to you It's been so lonely without you here like a bird without a song nothing can stop these lonely tears from falling tell me baby, oh where did I go wrong? I could put my arms around every girl I see but they'd only remind me of you So I went to the doctor guess what he told me -guess what he told me he said boy you better try to have fun no matter what you do, but he's a fool 'cause nothing compares nothing compares to you All the flowers that you planted momma in the backyard all died when you went I know that living with you baby was sometimes hard but I'm willing to give it another try nothing compares nothing compares to you (x3 until fade)

Stereophonics - A Thousand Trees
Standing at the bus stop with my shopping in my hands And I'm overhearing elder ladies As the rumours start to fly You can hear them in the school yard In the scrap yard In the chip shop In the phone box In the pool hall At the shoe store Every corner turn around It started with a school girl Who was running Running home to her Mam and Dad Told them she was playing, in the change room of the local foorball side They said tell us again, she told them again, tell us the truth, they find it hard to believe 'Cause he taught our I was steve, he even trained me, taught our John who's a father of three Only takes one tree, to make 1000 matches Only takes one match, to burn A thousand trees A thousand trees You see it in the classroom In the swimming pool Where the match stick men are made At the scout's hall At the football Where the wise we trust are paid They all honour his name He did a lot for the game Got his name knocked up above the sports ground gates But they're ripping them down, stamping the ground Picture gathers dust behind the bar in the lounge Only takes one tree, to make a thousand matches Only takes one match, to burn a thousand trees A thousand trees Wake up, and smell the rain Shake up, he's back to stay He hasn't been on a holiday His growing seeds don't believe Why he's been away From the school yard Changing room Playing field Bathroom Phone box Office blocks Corners turn around They keep doubting the flame, tossing the blame Got his name knocked up above ...

Took for granted all the things I forgot I'd known Slapped in the face kneels me down im out of control. I'd like to know Where Im supposed to go. Wish I could fly away forever I wish I could take your pain from you and release you. Dream of ways losing days how could we hope to fight this? Seasons change leaves fall on the frozen ground. Like a rock standing tall only way to play it Get you through you will grown into a shooting star I'd like to know Where im supposed to go. Wish I could fly away forever, I wish I could take your pain from you and release you. Wish I could fly away forever, I wish I could take your pain from you and release you. Don't fall down, Won't fall down, Don't know how, Don't look down, Just dream of ways to keep on keeping until then I'll, Fly away forever, I wish I could take your pain from you and release you. Fly away forever I wish I could take your pain from you and release you. Fly away forever, Wish I could take your pain from you and release you.

Made me feel like the one Made me feel like the one The one Made me feel like the one Made me feel like the one The one Drinking back, drinking for two Drinking with you And drinking was new Sleeping in the back of my car We never went far Needed to go far Made me feel like the one Made me feel like the one The one Made me feel like the one Made me feel like the one The one I don't know where we are going now I don't know where we are going now Wake up cold coffee and juice Remembering you What happened to you? I wonder if we'll meet again Talk about us instead Talk about why did it end Made me feel like the one Made me feel like the one The one Made me feel like the one Made me feel like the one The one I don't know where we are going now I don't know where we are going now So take a look at me now

Stereophonics - Rewind
It's your time It's your day It's never too late To change lanes How's your life? How's your place? Was it where you wanted Your head to lay? But wait, you can breathe You can see what I can see Don't waste your time You can't make back If you could rewind your time Would you change your life? Do you like you? Do you love your wife? Or did you pick what You're told was right? Dream and be What you feel Don't you compromise What you wanna be 'Cause change is okay What's the point in staying the same Regrets, forget what's dead and gone If you could rewind your time Would you change your life? If Jesus rode in on a camel today With your cross on his shoulder Time to take you away Have you done all you wanted? Are you happy and warm? Do you miss someone special You don't see anymore? Have you blood on your hands? Do you dream of white sands? Can you sleep well at night? Have you done all you can? The place I was born in Stays crooked and straight I see innocent blue eyes Go blind everyday Rewind your time Would you change your life Today?

Angie - Stereophonics
Oh Angie, Oh Angie, when will those dark clouds disappear Angie, Angie, where will it lead us from here With no loving in our souls and no money in our coats You can't say we're satisfied But Angie, Angie, you can't say we never tried Angie, you're beautiful, but ain't it time we said goodbye Angie, I still love you, remember all those nights we cried All the dreams we held so close seemed to all go up in smoke Let me whisper in your ear Angie, Angie, where will it lead us from here Oh, Angie, don't you weep, all your kisses still taste sweet I hate that sadness in your eyes But Angie, Angie, ain't it time we said good-bye With no loving in our souls and no money in our coats You can't say we're satisfied But Angie, I still love you, Baby, ev'rywhere I look I see your eyes There ain't a woman that comes close to you come on baby, dry your eyes But Angie, Angie, ain't it good to be alive Angie, Angie, they can't say we never tried
