Staten Island Ferry Fight ! New Years Day 2011
It was at approximately 5:30am est 1/1/2011 the first series of the morning departures of the Staten island ferry of the new year. Here many whom were returning home after hours of endless partying and fun celebrating the new year. I was filming for the sake of capturing the moment the first cruise aboard the ferry of 2011 and to document the new yorkers returning from the partying, until violence broke out as a lone man in a blue jacket attacked a man unprovoked viciously attacking him without stopping until police rushed to restrain the man. It is unknown how many people were injured , one man claims to have been bleeding from the lone madmans rage. It was utter chaos even as the new year dawned , the cruise continued it's course 5-15 mins behind schedule... the passengers tired and drained many talked about the sudden fight , this is the only video footage of this unknown incident that took place. UNCUT RAW VIDEO , it in all was a weird and WTF moment for everyone as we were excited for the stupidity of it but soon after all was quiet and it was a serious mood.

ON THE STATEN ISLAND FERRY. 2009.
Video by Christophe Nayel aka D-XRISTO. The Staten Island Ferry is a passenger ferry service operated by the New York City Department of Transportation that runs between Manhattan Island and Staten Island. The ferry departs Manhattan from South Ferry, near Whitehall Circle, at the southernmost tip of Manhattan near Battery Park. On Staten Island, the ferry arrives and departs from St. George Ferry Terminal on Richmond Terrace, near Richmond County Borough Hall and Richmond County Supreme Court. The five mile journey takes about 22 minutes each way. The ferry is now free of charge, though riders must disembark at each terminal and reenter through the terminal building for a round trip to comply with Coast Guard regulations regarding vessel capacity and the placeholding optical turnstiles at both terminals.[1] Bicycles may also be taken on the lowest deck of the ferry without charge. In the past, ferries were equipped for vehicle transport, at a charge of $3 per automobile; however, vehicles have not been allowed on the ferry since the September 11, 2001 attacks. For most of the 20th century, the ferry was famed as the biggest bargain in New York City. It charged the same five cent fare as the New York Subway but the ferry fare remained a nickel when the subway fare increased to 10 cents in 1948. In 1970 then-Mayor John V. Lindsay proposed that the fare be raised to 25 cents, pointing out that the cost for each ride was 50 cents, or ten times what the fare brought in. On ...

Corner of the Sky: A "Broadway Ambush" at the Staten Island Ferry
On Monday, April 10, at approximately 11:09 am hundreds waiting at the Staten Island Ferrys Whitehall terminal in Manhattan were surprised by a spontaneous Broadway dance performance of The Harbor Lights Theater Company. The performance of a newly recorded version of Wicked composer Stephen Schwartzs Corner of the Sky was designed to symbolize the Harbor Lights mission to build a bridge from Broadway to Staten Island. The three-minute number featured a cast of Broadway and professional dancers and was choreographed by Chet Walker (co-creator of the Tony Award-winning Broadway show Fosse, Founder of WALKERDANCE, and Harbor Lights Board Member). Walker is the Director and Choreographer of Harbor Lights one-night-only benefit honoring Stephen Schwartz which was held Saturday, April 24th at the St. George Theater on Staten Island. For more information, to see the whole SI Ferry Terminal performance go to theharborlightstheatercompany.org. Guerilla camera crew: Beth Gittleman, Bob Johnson, Tajlei Levis & Bob Johnson.
