You will enjoy this very short clip entitled "SpoonMan" from the QuickTime Version 1.0 CD-ROM. This is vintage, 1990 footage. The original clip was filmed at a resolution of 160 x 120, 8 bit color, and 8 bit audio. I did clean up the audio a bit so you have a better listening experience. I don't know why, but I've watched this clip over and over. See if it has the same effect on you! ADDITIONAL NOTES: I found the Bio on the actor. This guy has done some VERY cool stuff! March 24, 2009 at the newly re-opened Crocodile, history got heavy again. Legends of Seattle's grunge scene reunited as TADgarden, featuring 3/4s of Soundgarden and 1/3rd of TAD. TADgarden performs publicly for the first time at the Crocodile as part of Tom Morello's Nightwatchman Justice Tour. This is the third song of their 3 song set. Featuring Tom Morello sitting in... all that was missing was Artis the Spoonman himself. Filmed on a Panasonic Lumix DMC LZ7 which has a real crappy mic.

And also the download for this song. "Submitted for your listening pleasure, please enjoy this live version of Spoonman from a show we played on 11/30/96 at Del Mar fairgrounds in San Diego CA. On this '96 tour, we recorded all the shows (on two inch tape) from the west coast run, to one day release as a live album (disc). This is a 5 min clip of a special work in progress. John Smeltzer is a dear friend of mine. He's 61 years old, he was born with Down Syndrome, he's quite plausibly one of the most beautiful people to have walked this planet and he is an wonderful spoon player and gifted performer. John is at a significant time in his life, his health is still holding up, but to put it in perspective, 65 is not an age of retirement for someone with Down Syndrome, it is a serious life marker. To celebrate John's life while his health is still strong we've been on a twighlight dream for the past few years, to help John play one song, on stage with his favourite, famous bands. So far that list has included world famous fiddlers Natalie MacMaster and Ashley MacIsaac, the wonderful band Leahy and the iconic Celtic music pioneers The Chieftains. YOUR SUPPORT: Please lend us your support by sharing this video and staying tuned for information on our upcoming drive for the final and biggest concert achievement. John was born and raised on a farm in King City, Ontario and he worked as a farmer all his life. Chris Cornell said that he couldn't remember playing here before, but he eventually remembered this place as it got progressively hotter. He said ~"I finally remember this place! Big and hot. That's it. That's all I remember." :P Other Tidbits: Being 2nd row center was like being in a trash compactor. At the end of the night, my jacket was soaked and none of it was my own sweat. At the end of the last song of the concert, 5 people to my right, a really big guy (~6ft, 270lbs) started picking fights with his neighbors for no other reason than it was fun to him, and was pulled out by security. He then refused to leave and started pulling people's hair and punching hecklers as he walked off so he had to be tackled by security. He was so big that it took all 8 security guys to hold him down while they called upstairs for some flex-cuffs. Mars Volta was the opener and played 6 songs. ♔ Spoonman: Artis and the Kelp Horn ("Neptune")
Filmmaker Jeffrey Gold edited his travel footage for this short expose of Artis the Spoonman and the horn instrument he created by drying a stipe (stalk) of bull whip kelp with the pneumatocyst (bulb) serving as the bell. The video was shot on September 24, 2009 with a Canon PowerShot SD960 IS Digital Elph in its native format of 1280x720 HD with mono sound. The award-winning documentary Pigweed Philosopher: The Untethered Zen of Kimball Johnson had been invited to screen at the Port Townsend Film Festival in Port Townsend, Washington in September 2009, so executive producer Jeffrey Gold traveled there with the documentary film crew: director, Gabriel Lakey, composer Vince Lauria, and the film's subject, Kimball Johnson. In fact, Kimball Johnson can be seen in the background in a few scenes with Artis. Director Gabriel Lakey and composer Vince Lauria are also in the footage. Artis the Spoonman was featured in an early 90s Soundgarden music video entitled "Spoonman." An affable fellow, we liked him a lot. Check out some of the other videos featuring Spoonman on YouTube. Prince Nuada Deleted Training Scene set to "Spoonman" by Soundgarden
It's nothing special - just another homemade music video. This is basically just a short drool-fest for those who've got the hots for Nuada. And the "spoon solo" part of "Spoonman" seemed to fit the action pretty well. Yes, I know that Nuada kicking imaginary butt underground has nothing to do wth spoons. I'll probably make a few more; same scene, different music. Forgive me: I have no life. (LOL) Anyway, if you're into the ass-kickin'- makeup-wearin' types... enjoy! Oh, according to what I've read, a few guys did stunts with/for Luke during the Nuada fight scenes & the training scene: Damien Walter, Bin Xia & Xiang Gao. If you look closely, you'll see the physical differences during the really tough physical moments.
