Slash is simply for a certain audience of people. Funny thing is, the people at AOTS don't know a thing about Gene Roddenberry's view on Kirk and Spock's relationship, and the fact that he literally created these characters to complete one another. Kirk/Spock is BARELY a slash, in my opinion, because there are so many canon moments of them expressing love to each other. What type of love you think it is, it's up to you, but I believe it's more than a friendship. If you don't believe me, all I can say is go do some research! Or just...enjoy the video. XD

Unbeknownst to Kirk, some of Spock Prime's memories were transferred to him during the mind meld, and now Kirk has been having visions of another life, in which he and Spock were soulmates. Spock: five seconds cut scene
The deleted scene is 0:13-0:17. I cannot understand why five seconds of this scene were cut in the director's edition: in my opinion it changes all the meaning. The director's cut is more soft: absolutely friendly, Bones doesn't speak. In this uploaded clip, Bones as a doctor tries to stop Kirk awaking a debilitated Spock. From the movie Star Trek The Motion Picture. Update April 6th 2010: now you can find this scene and the original version of the movie as it was shown in the cinemas as it went out in the digitally restored version in dvd! I own nothing.
