Out Of Respect For The Richardson Family Comment Has Been Removed But Leave Your Thumbs Up As a Way To Show Respect To Lee Richardson..RIP Great Britain international speedway rider Lee Richardson has died following a crash in Poland, aged 33. The Lakeside Hammers captain, who has represented a number of English clubs, hit the safety fence while riding for his Polish side Rzeszow in Wroclaw. He suffered a heavy blow to the chest and later died in hospital. Hammers co-promoter Jon Cook said: "I am numb and just can't take this in. Lee's loss to his family is beyond imagination." Hastings-born Richardson, a regular on the Grand Prix circuit between 2002 and 2006, was a former World Under-21 champion and is Britain's all-time World Cup points scorer, collecting 240 points across 10 championships. His final appearance in the Elite League - Britain's top speedway division - was on Friday, when he contributed an impressive 10-point haul to a 59-37 win over his former club Peterborough. The 1997 Elite League Riders champion also featured for Coventry, King's Lynn, Poole, Swindon and Eastbourne during a 17-year career. Hammers owner Stuart Douglas added: "Lee's death is a truly shocking piece of news. "Sometimes the dangers the riders face in this sport are sidelined in the competitive spirit, but this proves just how brave speedway riders are. Google Announces Google Racing - NASCAR - Martinsville Speedway April 1, 2012 - April Fools
As part of its annual April Fools' pranks, Google came up with Google Racing, an almost plausible partnership with Nascar. In a post on the official Google blog, apparent racing car fan Sergey Brin wrote: ...today we're moving the project one great leap forward with Google Racing, a groundbreaking partnership with NASCAR to help self-driving vehicles compete in the world of stock car racing. We think the most important thing computers can do in the next decade is to drive cars--and that the most important thing Google Racing can do in the next decade is drive them, if possible, more quickly than anyone else. Or anything else. Brin, or someone at Google, writes about the joys of enabling "one of our cars to hold its own in a field of 43 jacked-up, 800-horsepower beasts screaming down a straightaway within inches of each other at upwards of 200 miles per hour," and concludes, "I can't imagine a more exciting challenge for our team than to race our autonomous vehicles against their carbon-based competitors." The prank includes an elaborate video with Nascar, paint schemes for the Nascar stock car and several photos, with an "I'm steering lucky!" decal on the back fender.

Chris Holder storms the 2012 European Speedway GP: Leszno
Leszno hosted the second round of the FIM Speedway Grand Prix season in blistering heat and a super charged atmosphere in front of a raucous Polish crowd. After a near month-long break after New Zealand, Monster Energy riders Greg Hancock, Tomasz Gollob, Chris Holder and Antonio Lindback came back to more familiar surroundings... until they ended up on a gun range on the Saturday morning. Check the action from the weekend which you couldn't take your eyes off and came to the boil in a frenzied final run. Whilst Greg's bike had given up on him in the semis it was left to Chris and Tomasz to charge for the win and over the course of 4 hectic laps, where the lead changed multiple times, it was Chris who came through the pack to storm to his third ever GP win. Speedway - Genie In A Bottle
Speedway are a Scottish pop rock group who were formed in 2001 by Glaswegians Jill Jackson (lead vocals) and Jim Duguid (drums). The band acquired two more members in that same year, in the shape of bassist Tom Swann from Edinburgh and guitarist Dan Sells, now lead singer of The Feeling, later replaced by Chris Leonard and signed with Innocent Records in 2002. The band supported then labelmates Blue on their UK tour in early 2003, and played a number of university gigs as well, and they were noted for playing one song in particular- the Christina Aguilera 1999 hit Genie in a Bottle, and as a result, in September 2003, it became their first single as a double-a-side, with another song, Save Yourself and hit #10 in the UK singles chart.

Team USA conquer Speedway World Cup race-off 2012
Team USA had been a missing outfit from the Speedway World Cup for five years. Whilst Greg Hancock's been winning titles at Grand Prix level and sits as the incumbent World Champion he's been a lone figure at an international level since long-term friend Billy Hamill retired.
