DemonStrate - Portal Done Pro - Speedrun - 9:25.567 - WR
NOTICE: After watching the speedrun, before you say, "OMFG WTF HAX CHEATS!", please watch the commentary videos for this speedrun located here: www.youtube.com This is it... Portal Done Pro. I, DemonStrate, beat Portal for the PC in under 10 minutes. From when I get out of bed, to the time I drop the final personality core into the furnace, the time is 9:25.567. It is the current world record for Portal completion time. Much of the speedrun is sitting in the elevator. I have not calculated yet how much time I waste waiting for the elevators, but I'm sure it is probably a majority of the time. I segmented the speedrun per map. This means when the game says, "Loading...", it is loading a new map, and I save the game and load from there. The only exceptions are Chambers 02 and 13. This speedrun uses a majority of the glitches in the game. Unfortunately, it does not use the acute angle glitch, which might be the most useful glitch in the game, if used correctly. All other glitches are explained in my series of commentary videos here: www.youtube.com This video is not for the weak of heart. It is very fast and very confusing for someone who doesn't understand the glitches used. I would highly recommend watching the videos above. I don't believe anyone else in their right mind would try to do what I have done in this video. I completed the first segment on September 13, 2008, 06:12 AM and the last segment on July 03, 2010, 08:32 PM. Almost 2 years of working on this. I've ...

It was played in real time on a console. I've uploaded it because it's over 10 minutes long and the author of the run gave me permission to do so. It should not be uploaded without first getting permission from him. --- Game: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Player: Pokey ( www.youtube.com ) Finishing time (using SDA timing): 1:16:54 Speedrun type: Single Segment Completed on: May 30th, 2010 Author's comments: "Thanks to Jiano, Cosmo, ZFG, KlydeStorm, Runnerguy2489, Maxx, SwordlessLink, AKA, RingRush, ZeroGX, Animeowzerz, Manocheese, and probably a lot others that I am forgetting. Special thanks to the SDA team for building such a great site. I have been doing this run for about 7 months now. It started off as a casual run but I started to get more serious. The route changed quite often but for the better. The run turned out really well. I was only a few minutes behind Runnerguy's Real Time Attack run which skip bombchus, hover boots, and savewarps everywhere which SS cannot do. So to start off the run... The rupee route went pretty well. No mistakes and I got out of the forest really fast. Hyrule Field the first time went better than expected. My angle was very good for the Water ESS. The first half of cucco collecting went pretty good. The manipulation wasn't perfect but still pretty good ...

Super Meat Boy Speed Run 19:24 any% SS
Faster strats, better execution, more awesomeness. This run beats my old record by ~46 seconds and is the current world record for Super Meat Boy any%. Thanks to Breakdown, Kaede and Aaron this run features a lot of new level strategies. The 3-16 skip was a big neckbreaker for many run attempts as well as all the larries lament fights that took longer than 3 turns. After countless hours and resets of meat boy everything fell into place and I'm very proud of the final product. There are some mistakes every now and then thanks to my human parts acting up. I hope you guys enjoy watching it ! :) PS: As usual this run was done in one sitting. PPS: Expect this run to pop up over at speeddemosarchive.com in a high quality encode when its submitted and verified. Thanks to Team Meat for posting about this run and everybody who watched/commented on this. You guys are awesome :)

Left 4 Dead: Leeroy Jenkins Expert Speedrun - No Mercy
What is the best way to complete No Mercy on expert? A LEEROY JENKINS SPEEDRUN!!! (Actually it took me an embarressingly long time to get enough footage of us 'not dying' to make this...) But still! Its really fun, and you get tons of funny moments while sprinting through the level. MYST Speed Run (1:45)
WARNING: IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED OR COMPLETED MYST, THEN DON'T WATCH THIS! Basically, this is me completing the first Myst game as fast as possible. The result, as you see in the title, is 1 minute and 45 seconds. This is also my very first speed run. Enjoy! This game was played on a Power Mac G3 because my Mac OS X computer doesn't have a Classic mode application that allows you to use older programs through Mac OS 9 (Much like DOS Box on Windows computers). Also, I'm pretty sure that today's video capture cards aren't compatible with older computers, so filming the screen had to do. The tapping at the beginning is me rapidly turning off "Environmental Sound" (So there won't be a small load time in between screen changes), switching to "Fastest Transitions", and turning on "Zip Mode" all with the keyboard. Update: It has recently come to my attention that someone named Samuel "Arkarian" Groves has broken my record with a time of 1:16, all because of a faster computer processor.

Kaizo Mario World TAS Speed Run (14:23.7) Part 1
REMEMBER TO RATE, COMMENT, SUBSCRIBE, AND FAVE! I think this is the fastest completion on video. If you're not familiar with Kaizo Mario World, it's an extremely hard Super Mario World ROM Hack. The basic functions are the same, but the levels themselves are spastic. This is a TAS in which I go for the fastest time possible in Kaizo Mario World. TAS stands for Tool-Assisted Speedrun, which means that I used savestates, slowdown, and other cheats to make this. In a sense, I did this, but in another sense, I cheated. This is not meant to show skill, but to show the game pushed to its limits, which many people find amusing. Any anti-TAS comments will be deleted, and the poster will be permanently blocked. Try me. If timing starts when Mario reaches Yoshi's Island on the map, and ends when the final mechakoopa touches Bowser, I finished in 14 minutes, 23.7 seconds. Sorry for the inconvenient time of split, but I really wanted to get the entire sequence on video. Remember to watch part 2. NOTICE 11/07/09: I get requests for YouTube Partners based on this video, what is that and what does it do? To certify you have read this ENTIRE thing, put "pie" in your comment. Morrowind Speedrun NEW TIME 4:19! (PC)
By Janis 'Pendrokar' Lukass *NOT ME* Best single-segment time: 0:04:19 by Janis 'Pendrokar' Lukss. on 2010-02-06. Author's comments: Hi, Here is what I can say about the run. I used Morrowind version 1.0 for the 'constant item attribute bug' which I will explain later. Also, I noticed that loading screens are actually animations, because when I record the game at 60 FPS the loading screen always is about 2.5 seconds long while normally playing, it is less than a half a second long(on FPS ~200+). Constant item attribute bug: It is called "Sunder/Keening cheat" on a elder scrolls wiki, but they are wrong of how it works and also it is a bug not a cheat. You have to have a item with a constant effect and switch it with another item which takes it's place. Switching those items at rapid speed the constant effect will sometimes add up permanently. It is most easy to do with weapons because of weapon switch controls but it is also possible with any other equip-able item. I use that bug on keening to gain an extreme amount of speed, agility, luck, fortify health and I also use it with sunder too(Strength, Endurance and Luck). With such amounts I can hit enemies with any weapon no matter the skill level and they can never hit me with a melee attack. Also sneak attacks have a high chance of succeeding dealing 4x damage. The Fortify health also protects me from damage done by 'mortal wound'. Potions: No matter how much speed I have I cannot be faster than something that is instant ...
Portal speedrun in under 10 minutes!
Expand me! NOTE: I had absolutely NOTHING to do with the speedrun. I'm just uploading it on YouTube. This is a single-segment (all in one shot) speedrun of the PC version of Portal, done by Maciej 'groobo' Maselewski on August 10, 2008. Scripts and major glitches are used, but the actual game itself has not been modified, cheated or hacked. I snipped out all of the elevators and loading screens, so as not to bore you ;) Sadly, the end song didn't fit the 10 minute mark, but there's other YouTube videos for that. Mirror's Edge Chapter 1 - Speedrun 5:33:32
I've actually got a better run now right here: www.youtube.com This one took a loooong time to get right, but I'm proud of it. Admittedly there are several mistakes, but for the most part it was a good run. PS you'll notice the camera stop-cutting in the loading screens and in the elevators. those things take such a ridiculously long time to load that I edited out roughly a minute and a half of just sitting there and waiting.(you'll also note that the clock is STOPPED for those time periods, and that I always cut back BEFORE it restarts) PPS I feel really bad for the guys who have to go everywhere and paint all the plants white, that must be a crappy job.

Half-Life in Half an Hour
This speed run wasn't done by me. I just uploaded it for the person who did do it. Author's comments: "This is my segmented Half-Life speedrun, done by me, Blake "Spider-Waffle" Piepho. I had the idea for this in year 2000, started working on it in 2003, and completed it in October 2006. This run was done through many small segments in aim of achieving a high level of perfection. The final time from start to the death blow on Nihilanth is 29:41. This run will be up on SpeedDemosArchive.com soon were you can read more in depth comments and also download other speedruns done by me. I have to give a big thanks to people that made a segmented Half-Life run before me, these people are Radon (-think.circle-), Dopefish, and RandomEngy. I'd also like to thank RandomEngy for capturing the video and his video editing support. I hope you enjoyed it. Feel free to link and tell your friends about it."

Sonic Generations: Modern Green Hill Speedrun (01:48.15)
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is from an old build of the game (the June 23rd demo, to be precise) and is not to be confused with the Modern Demo released on October 18th/25th or the final product. In other words, what you see here is a beta build of Green Hill and Sonic Generations as a whole. As such, there may be some differences (both aesthetic and gameplay altering) between this build and its newer counterpart. Please keep that in mind when watching the video. A faster run (of the October demo) can be found here: www.youtube.com Special thanks to Jacktheinfinite101. Without his video tutorials on how to hack Modern Sonic's Green Hill into the demo, this wouldn't have been possible. Here's a run-down of all the time-saving tricks I used in order of their appearance: 0:31 Taking the left spring and then boosting upon contact with the rail results in a massive speed boost. After that, switching back and forth between rails keeps your momentum going. 0:49 When I come to the 3 purple Buzzbombers, I skip using the Homing Attack on the 3rd one by air boosting over it. 0:55 The dash panel here gives Sonic a huge boost in speed. By jumping after taking it, you can retain your momentum and fly past that part of the level. 1:30 I'm pretty sure that grinding the rail is faster than wall-jumping here. I might be wrong though; they're very close. 1:43 Hopping over the ramp is faster than using it. 1:51 By using the Homing Attack on the spring here, you can use the air boost to stomp ...

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 speedrun
By Simon 'Sorcerer88' Schmid. Author's comments: This is my third and probably last try at an any% speedrun of THPS3 with Bam Margera, finally in English, with 60 fps and less than 6 minutes long! While there are three small mistakes in the run, they only sum up to 4 or 5 seconds lost, and neither of them has ever happened to me before in hundreds and hundreds of attempts. There are always surprises and random events in a tony hawks game, I can't meet each of them. So, overall, i'm more than happy with this run and its ~41 seconds of improvement over my last record, which result purely from a single route tweak and tiny tricks. At first, I will only comment on the new stuff in this run. If you want to have the route and tricks explained, see the additional info section at the end of the page. The one thing I changed about the route is that I get 4 status points which I use to maximize speed. I noticed that it saves much more time than it costs, I really should have figured this out earlier. Now to the individual levels: Foundry - the 5-seconds-per-target-level No mistakes - and a 2 seconds improvement over the last run! There are several small new tricks I implemented here. Collecting the K is more direct now, but also way harder. Jumping from the rail first rail into the K needs to be done at the very last moment ( note that you can jump in mid-air in this game ), and you need to jump off the second rail very quickly to not miss the jump. Then, you need to land in the ...

Quake done 100% Quickest
For more information and download links, own-age.com Quake done 100% Quickest is a 100% completion speedrun of the game Quake by id Software. The speedrun was performed by members of the Quake done Quick team and this movie was put together by Jozsef "j0zzz" Szalontai. I've had to remove the intro and outro because of some codec problems with YouTube. ----- 'Quake done 100% Quickest' is a run through all of Quake on Nightmare skill, going through the levels as fast as possible, killing every single monster and finding every single secret in every single map of Quake. The running time is 48:00. HOW THE RUN WAS RECORDED: We recorded each demo separately, on skill 3 (Nightmare), of course without any cheating. To start with the correct stats we ended the previous level with, we used a QuakeC patch that allowed us to select the statistics we started with. There are no weapons in the higher levels, because you should have them already from previous ones. And we did it by connecting single demos together because the final product is a lot more interesting that way and entertaining, and we could include some very cool tricks that we couldn't do had we recorded it in one sitting. Mirror's Edge Prologue speedrun World Record 1:48:91
This is a pretty nice run. It has been beaten by now, but not by much. Although this is the shortest and easiest speed run, it has some of the hardest shortcuts to do. I barely ever get that double/triple pole jump at the beginning. It can be really hard on PS3. If you're on pc, just change jump to the mouse wheel and scroll as you jump over the pipe. And this means that I have now had world records on every single speedrun! They've all been beaten, but I was good once. Come back when Mirror's Edge 2 comes out. I will try my best in the inevitable competition that will take place between all us speedrunners. Jagged Alliance 2 - Speedrun 7:32
Jagged Alliace 2 v1.12 - Speedrun 7:32 by Pendrokar Author's comments: 1st Segment: 1) Took Magic for agility(speed/sneak), silenced Uzi, High marksmanship. 2) Took Grunty for the two canteens(the only one merc that has two) used in segment 2 and 3 by Magic when energy gets low. 3) Due to randomness of character availability at AIM I save after I give both canteens to Magic and dismiss Grunty. 2nd Segment: 1) There are only several routes of going to Cambria some of which can slow down mercs, such as going from E10 to E9 + I need to get in Cambria from the north. I went through the Omerta because less game time would pass. (Used + - keys for speeding up game time at map) 2) Used the corner switch trick at B9 that is going to a side sector and then back into B9(passing some game time minutes) and selecting a different start point which in this case is south! 3) Luckily I did not run into Blood Cat ambushes that sometimes happen at C9 though this just takes a few seconds unless Magic confronts a Blood Cat(if the blood cat manages to hit magic the run is over due to that Magic has no healing equipment) 4) In F9(Cambria) there are two LAW's in a crate(random from 0 to 2) which I use at Meduna Palace. Many restarts due to the random count! 5) I shouldn't had a contact or opponent loading times(loading time occurred because another soldier saw the soldier die), but due to the rareness of 2 LAW's in the crate I continued the run. 6) Going through the town saves game time. 7) If ...
