Sony unveils its next-generation portable "NGP" (aka PSP2) in Tokyo
TOKYO (01/27/2011) -- Sony has unveiled a successor to its PlayStation Portable, a new handheld gaming device that will go on sale at the end of 2011. Provisionally dubbed the "next generation portable," or NGP, the device has a 5-inch OLED touchscreen, WiFi and 3G, front and rear cameras and, answering the calls of many gamers, dual analog sticks.
Classic Game Room HD - Sony PSP review
Classic Game Room HD reviews the Sony PSP model PSP-3001, released in 2008. This PSP is the unit that CGR uses for all of the PSP reviews because it has an amazing audio and video output that allows gamers to play the PSP on televisions with component video for the best picture possible. The PSP itself has an amazing screen, sounds great through headphones (or stereo system) and is built with excellent controls and feels solid. The UMD format is the weak link for this (and other, older PSP models) unit because the UMD drive is an optical drive just waiting to have problems. Fortunately PSP owners can download most of their games from the Playstation Network these days, including a huge number of original PSone video games for PSP. Now that the PSP Go is released you may think that the PSP series 1000, 2000 and 3000 are obsolete but they are not! The older PSP models can still download the newest games and rock your journey with Playstation on the go goodness.

The Amazing Spider-man - New Trailer - In Cinemas 4th July 2012
The film, which is now in production and is being shot entirely in 3D, will be released on July 3, 2012. The film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field. The film is directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt and Alvin Sargent and Steve Kloves based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Starting tomorrow, the name PlayStation Network will be phased out. All PlayStation Network members received a note saying the PSN accounts are being replaced with Sony Entertainment Network accounts. . Users will be required to accept a new terms of service when they log in after February 7th. The notice stated, "The rebranding of the PlayStation Network accounts to Sony Entertainment Network accounts is a change in name only...Your username or password will not change, nor are we asking you to change them." . In additon to the PlayStation Store and Network, the SEN includes Video Unlimited and Music Unlimited services. Both of which you can access on your PlayStation 3. There should be a firmware update in the near future to reflect this change for the PS3 and the Vita. . It appears as though this transition will be very simple and painless. You still get everything you already have and still have access to all the same applications, just on a differently named network. It is part of a move by Sony to get their music, movie, and gaming services under one tent. . You should see the change happen this week. Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc Hands-On by Aaron Aaron gets a first look at the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc, the newest device in the XPERIA lineup. It's sporting a 1 GHz processor, 4.2-inch "Reality Display" (yes, the high-resolution catchphrases will never die), some HDMI goodness, Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), and Sony Ericsson's custom user interface. The device is impressively thin with some nice curves, though it's a bit plasticky. It'll be available by the end of Q1 (March), but there's no word on carrier partnerships or the regions that will be receiving the device. CES 2012: NEW Sony's Crystal LED Display Technology
To learn more: www.sony.com We've developed the next-generation self-emitting display, "Crystal LED Display," and are showing our newest technology on a Full HD, 55-inch prototype model during CES 2012. It is the industry's first 55-inch Full HD self-emitting display using LEDs as the light source. The "Crystal LED Display" is a self-emitting display that uses Sony's unique methods to mount ultrafine LEDs in each of the Red-Green-Blue (RGB) colors, equivalent to the number of pixels (approximately six-million LEDs for Full HD). The RGB LED light source is mounted directly on the front of the display, dramatically improving the light use efficiency. This results in images with strikingly higher contrast (in both light and dark environments), wider color gamut, superb video image response time, and wider viewing angles when compared to existing LCD and plasma displays, with low power consumption. Furthermore, due to the display's structure, the "Crystal LED Display" is also ideal for large screens.
