Beethoven - Moonlight Sonata (animated score, 1st mvt.) piano solo

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) Q:Can I get free sheet music for this piece? A: Yes, you can download the score shown in the video from here: www.musanim.com Q: What do the colors in the bar-graph score mean? A: The colors indicate the "pitch class" of the notes; that is, every C# is a certain color (blue), every E is a certain color (olive green), etc. The piece is in the key of C# minor, so there's lots of blue and green, especially at the beginning and end. The choice of colors is based on the "circle of fifths," which you can read about here: en.wikipedia.org This method of coloring notes is described more here: www.musanim.com Because this form of coloring reflects tonality, the places where the piece moves into another key are easily visible; here's a picture of the whole piece: www.musanim.com BTW, the colors are more distinct in the high-quality version of the video. Q: Who is playing? Who are you? How long have you been playing the piano? A: See this: www.musanim.com Q: I want to learn to play the piano; what advice can you give me? A: I've put some suggestions here: www.musanim.com Q: What did this sheet music look like back in Beethoven's time? A: Here is a facsimile of the first edition, printed in 1802. www.musanim.com Q: What do the light/dark areas in the bar-graph score show? A: They show the effect of the damper pedal. Q: What do the x's in the score mean? A: Those are double-sharps. A sharp goes up one semitone (F to F-sharp) and a double sharp goes up ...

Scarlatti, Sonata, K. 455, harpsichord

Domenico Scarlatti's Sonata in G major, K. 455,accompanied by a scrolling bar-graph score. FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) for this video Q: Where can I get the sheet music for this piece? A: Sheet music for this can be found here: www.musanim.com This is from the Longo edition, I think; I recommend the Fadini "critical" edition (published by Ricordi; expensive, but worth it). Q: Please tell me more about the composer. A: You can read about the composer here en.wikipedia.org Q: What instrument are you playing? A: I'm playing a sampled instrument, Gerard Atema's "Pristine Harpsichord," recorded by Frank van der Weij, and sold to me by GigaStudio. Q: What would this sound like on the piano? A: Here is Vladimir Horowitz's wonderful rendition: www.youtube.com Q: What does K stand for? A: Ralph Kirkpatrick, who did a numbering of the sonatas; more about him here en.wikipedia.org Q: How and when did you make this rendition? A: I made this rendition in the early days of MIDI (1980s, I think), by laying down left hand and right hand tracks individually, not in real time. Q: Is there a way I could make the bar-graph scores myself? A: The Music Animation Machine MIDI file player will generate this display; you can get the (Windows) software here: www.musanim.com There are lots of places on the web where you can get MIDI files; I usually go to the Classical Archives site first: www.classicalarchives.com Q: Could you please do a MAM video of ______? A: First, check my "to do" list ...

SONATA ARCTICA - I Have A Right (OFFICIAL VIDEO)

Directed by Tuukka Temonen. STONES GROW HER NAME is out on May 18th (EU) and May 22, 2012 (NA) via Nuclear Blast Records. AVAILABLE AT: Nuclear Blast USA: bit.ly Nuclear Blast EUROPE: bit.ly Amazon (US): amzn.to iTunes: bit.ly TONY KAKKO writes: "I Have A Right" was the very last song I wrote for this album. At that point Tommy had already played his last track for "Stones Grow Her Name," gotten ready to go to sauna AND opened his first beer for that night, when I sms'd him to check his e-mail and record yet one more "easy track". He was mildly pissed. And perhaps fueled by that he nailed the song on the first take. It was a very emotional moment for him, I was told. The song hits home, if you know the subject and can relate to the subject. To put it short it's a song about how we should not pass the burden we get from the past generation on the shoulders of our future offspring. Children's rights subject. Not the most metal subject ever, I suppose, but then again I think it fits our band well and is pretty universal. Funny to actually have fans from each age group this songs speaks about. Let's see what comes of it. Choosing the first single and video from this album was not very easy this time around as we had so many candidates. The best possible problem to have! "I Have A Right" won the vote. The playing parts for this video were shot in our home town Kemi, here in Finland. The location was an old, abandoned school building. Somehow spooky and COLD. It was mid march ...

Sonata Arctica - Replica

I'm home again, I won the war, and now I am behind your door. I tried so hard to obey the law, see the meaning of it all. Remember me? Before the war. I'm the man who lived next door. Long ago... As you can see, when you look at me, I'm pieces of what I used to be. It's easier if you don't see me standing on my own two feet. I'm taller when I sit here still, you ask are all my dreams fulfilled. They made me a heart of steal, the kind them bullets cannot see Nothing's what it seems to be, I'm a replica, I'm a replica Empty shell inside of me I'm not myself, I'm a replica of me... The light is green, my slate is clean, new life to fill the hole in me. I had no name, last December, Christmas Eve I can't remember. I was in a constant pain, I saw your shadow in a rain. I painted all your pigeons red, I wish I had stayed home instead. Nothing's what it seems to be, I'm a replica, I'm a replica Empty shell inside of me I'm not myself, I'm a replica of me... Are you gonna leave me now, when it is all over Are you gonna leave me, is my world now over... Raising from the place I've been, and trying to keep my home base clean. Now I'm here and won't go back believe. I fall asleep and dream a dream, I'm floating in a silent dream. No-one placing blame on me But nothing's what it seems to be, yeah. Nothing's what it seems to be, I'm a replica, I'm a replica Empty shell inside of me I'm not myself, I'm a replica of me...

Sonata Arctica Juliet + Lyrics

"These are my final lines, I've lived all my nine lives, My nights are over, cannot feel your heart anymore" I lived only trough you, My scar, my heart, my truth, I do not want to die, But no more can I love you!!! How hard it is to understand My wish to die hand in hand? This night's like a dream You will be the last thing I will see I hold your hand, close my eyes all I love finally dies Drank the poison most foul with you... But why do you smile? ...Don't smile Don't you smile You're supposed Wither away with me, so, Juliette Please don't smile I'm paralyzed and you are still alive. Life is but a long, sad game Drifting souls, avoiding shame Two dead swans is all what we need To pave the winding memory lane. No hellos, no bad goodbyes Wailing, distant, silent cries You can live with my pain, It's your own you cannot take? You played the game and lost, I wonder how you can, Hold the cards for a dead man The light and the clarity Welcome change for the life in the darkness, Sea of my sanity... Lost in the vanity... All I ever wanted; to be lost in you, My burden, the hatred... My own reality... Mirrors and smoke The final truth unfolds ...Your reality... Mirrors my hopes, Where you will need me... They never find us again once the trail has gone cold They never find us again once the trail has gone cold I'm a restless soul, I'll make the best ghost All things good end into a... Minute of silence! - I get myself in line One minute of silence - To face my own demise One ...

Hyundai Sonata YF 'Mysterious Acceleration' Causes Car Crash

Dashboard camera footage of an elderly couple's car accelerating uncontrollably before crashing into another vehicle has sparked an investigation by officials in South Korea. The car is seen abruptly accelerating from a standstill, forcing the driver to weave through heavy traffic before eventually slamming into the back of a stationary vehicle at 129kmh. The driver's wife is heard yelling, "Oh my God, what is going on?" during the 29 second video. The alleged 'sudden acceleration' crash on May 6, took place in the centre of one of South Korea's largest cities, Daegu, and injured 17 people. The couple's son says his father suffered fractured fingers and ribs, and his mother required surgery for internal bleeding. Hyundai Motors has since released a statement saying the vehicle, a 2009 Sonata YF sedan, is being inspected by the Korean National Forensic Service.

Beethoven - Moonlight (FULL) - Piano Sonata No. 14

Facebook page: www.facebook.com Paul Pitman The Piano Sonata No. 14 in C♯ minor "Quasi una fantasia", op. 27, No. 2, by Ludwig van Beethoven The sonata has three movements: Adagio sostenuto. Allegretto (click to go at 6:00 min). Presto agitato (click to go at 8:05 min). Adagio sostenuto The first movement, in C♯ minor, is written in an approximate truncated sonata form. The movement opens with an octave in the left hand and a triplet figuration in the right. A melody that Hector Berlioz called a "lamentation", mostly by the right hand, is played against an accompanying ostinato triplet rhythm, simultaneously played by the right hand. The movement is played pianissimo or "very quietly", and the loudest it gets is mezzo forte or "moderately loud". The adagio sostenuto has made a powerful impression on many listeners; for instance, Berlioz said of it that it "is one of those poems that human language does not know how to qualify. The work was very popular in Beethoven's day, to the point of exasperating the composer himself, who remarked to Carl Czerny, "Surely I've written better things. Allegretto The second movement is a relatively conventional scherzo and trio, a moment of relative calm written in D-flat major, the enharmonic equivalent of C♯ major, the more easily-notated parallel major of C♯ minor. Franz Liszt described the second movement as "a flower between two chasms."[citation needed] The slight majority of the movement is in piano, but a handful of sforzandos ...

My Selene - Sonata Arctica

Nocturnal poetry: Dressed in the whitest silver you'd smile at me Every night I wait for my sweet Selene But still... Solitude's upon my skin A Life that's bound by the chains of reality Would you let me be your Endymion? I would Bathe in your moonlight and slumber in peace Enchanted by your kiss in forever sleep But until we unite I live for that night Wait for time Two souls entwine In the break of new dawn My hope is forlorn Shadows they will fade But I'm always in the shade Without you... Serene and silent sky Rays of moon are dancing with the tide A perfect sight, a world divine And I... The loneliest child alive Always waiting, searching for my rhyme I'm still alone in the dead of night Silent I lie with a smile on my face Appearance deceives and the silence betrays As I wait for the time My dream comes alive Always out of sight But never out of mind And under waning moon Still I long for you Alone against the light Solitude am I In the end I'm enslaved by my dream In the end there's no soul who'd bleed for me Hidden from daylight I'm sealed in my cave Trapped in a dream that is slowly turning to nightmare, Where I'm all alone Venial is life when you're but a dream, The book is still open the pages as empty as me [SOLO] I cling to a hope that's beginning to fade Trying to break the desolation I hate But until we unite I live for that night Wait for time Two souls entwine In the break of new dawn My hope is forlorn We will never meet Only Misery and me This is my ...
