Skydive With NO Parachute Stunt and SURVIVES! A STUNTMAN has made aviation history by becoming the first skydiver to land without using a parachute. Gary Connery, 42, from Oxfordshire, leapt from a helicopter 1.5km above Henley-on-Thames in southern England, then glided down using a specially adapted wing suit before landing on a "runway" of 18000 cardboard boxes. "It was so comfortable, so soft. My calculations obviously worked out and I'm glad they did," he said after the jump. His wife Vivian said she was "relieved it's all over". To prepare for the jump he underwent weeks of intensive training in Switzerland and Italy, leaping from mountains and cliffs to perfect his wing suit glide angle. As part of the preparations, Mr Connery studied the flight of kite birds and how they use their tails to control their flight direction. "Kites steer by twisting their tail one way or another and I'll be doing the same," he explained before the jump. Mr Connery said he "got a really nice exit. I started to fly very, very stable very quickly but there must have been some turbulence. "I was experiencing a lot of bouncing in that flight that I hadn't experienced before, so it was a little weird. But these suits are amazing. There is so much stability in them." 04/30/2011 The skydive accident that caused the loss of my left arms feeling due to nerves being severed from spine, which I am still waiting for the amputation confirmation date. All I remember is looking over at the pit and seeing the trailer and wanting to avoid it. Upon exiting the plain the winds on the ground were at 11 mph due west. Coming in on landing I did a pen check and was being blown backwards from the west and crosswinds from the north. The winds at the time of the crash were all over, varying from west and north anywhere from 20 mph to gust of 28 mph. The GoPro camera I was using makes it look like I am farther away from the trailer than i really am. I had a small window of time to make a decision attempt to miss the trailer or due a low turn and pitch myself into the ground with a down draft and traveling at around 45 mph. I am here posting this video so as far as I'm concerned it was the right decision at the time. In truth, I PROBABLY SHOULDN'T BE ALIVE... The Red Bull Skydive Team recently performed a spectacular performance high in the skies above Austria well worthy of any James Bond film. As part of the project Akte Blani(X) 3, the five-man squadron set off in hot pursuit of two Blanix gliders cruising 4000 metres above the ground. In one of the most daring wingsuit manoeuvres ever seen, the skydivers then inched their way towards the aircraft before flying along side by side at speeds in excess of 180km/h.

Taken in 2008, then five-year-old Alan Lachman fulfilled a life-long dream when his father allowed him to tandem jump with family friend and legendary skydiver Antonio Montano from the small propeller driven aircraft. Leaving nothing to chance, Alan and his father Aaron, who is a pilot, spent months planning the jump, double-checking everything from the reserve parachute to the safety harnesses that the young boy would rely on. Making that jump in 2008, Alan, now aged seven is busy planning his next ascent into the skies.

Austrian skydiver Felix Baumgartner plans to go supersonic
Austrian skydiver Felix Baumgartner has successfully completed a test jump from 71500ft (22km) above New Mexico. The jump was planned to allow a full test of his equipment before he tries to free-fall from 120000ft later this year. In doing so, he would better the mark of 102800ft set by US Air Force Colonel Joe Kittinger in 1960. He landed safely eight minutes after leaping from his balloon-borne capsule. Skydiver's near impact and landing on top of a mountain
The purpose of this video is to show the importance of spotting, no matter where you jump but in particular in the mountains. The group was the 2nd to exit, the drop was at the wrong place (not a pilot error though) and nobody noticed until it was almost too late. It was pure coincidence and only the quick reaction by the skydivers involved prevented injuries or worse. I uploaded this video in order to allow anyone interested to learn from it and to help other people to prevent making the same mistakes. Some of you might say: "of course, I always spot anyway" but in fact, a lot of people don't, especially if they're not the first (group) exiting. Always spot!!! It doesn't cost you anything, certainly not your life! Blue skies NPS: 1. we know what went wrong so there's no need to remind us :-) 2. Audibles as well as AADs don't help in a situation like this as they are set to the pressure level of the landing area more than 4.000 ft lower. 3. Deploying the reserve would have been the right choice. However, as you can see, there was NO time for thinking and thus your body intuitively and automatically does what it always does: pull the main

Grandma's Skydive Goes Wrong
SHOCKING video appears to show a reluctant OAP skydiver desperately hanging by a single strap on her instructor's harness in a tandem jump gone horribly wrong. The footage claims to show an 80-year-old wannabe daredevil - named Laverne - pulling out of her tandem jump at the last minute. Strapped to an instructor the panicking OAP clutches onto the the plane - refusing to go through with the dive. The instructor eventually pushes her out of the plane as her harness comes loose - with potentially deadly consequences. The pensioner is left desperately clinging onto the instructor as the pair hurtle towards earth at 125mph. In one dramatic scene the teacher grasps onto the woman as she threatens to slip out of his grip and to certain death. The whole dangerous sequence - which emerged on theChive.com website - is captured on film by a separate jumper who is seen at one stage attempting to help. But some viewers have cast doubts on the film speculating that it could be a stunt. They point out that the woman does not appear to have any skydiving gear on -- or even a helmet. In the video before the jump Laverne reveals it is her first dive and she has been planning it for a decade. The footage is believed to have been filmed in California however it is still unclear when it was shot.
