Trains at Skipton - Summer 1995
This clip was recored in the Summer of 1995 and has been transferred from Home VHS, hence the lower standard in video quality. Like most of my reclaimed footage this features no sound, due to my 9 year old high pitched voice talking over pretty much everything - so apologies there. Filmed in the Summer of 1995 (although I am open to corrections as this is an educated guess) we take a short look at Skipton Railway Station. Located in North West Yorkshire this station had only recently (at the time of filming) been electrified, this was our first visit with it "under the wires". The clip starts with a shot of a smartly presented 47778 "Irresistible" slowly drawing forward with "The Royal Scotsman", we then take a close up look at the exterior of these coaches with one or two peeks through the window. In the other platforms a provincial liveried 142 waits to depart for Leeds and a Class 156 which has traversed the world famous "Settle & Carlisle" railway is also waiting to depart for Leeds having originated in Carlisle. Next up a West Yorkshite PTE "Metro Train" liveried 3 car Class 144 arrives from Leeds, which as a youngster from the North West a sight of a three car pacer was such a novelty. We cross plaforms to see that unit head back to leeds and a two car 144 arrive. We cross over a final time to see yet another 144 arrive, but before the acusations of a "unit-fest" begin an (as yet) unidentified Class 60 thunders through with a northbound aggregates working. Now for ...

Skipton, Malham and Janet's Foss - A Yorkshire Dales Daytrip
My friends and I took a trip around the Yorkshire Dales National Park in early June of 2011. The weather was fantastic, and I could not resist taking my camera out for a bit of a snap around. These are a collection of photos from that camera. The first section is the centre of Skipton with it's canal boats, then onto Malham village, where we encountered an old fashioned Blacksmith shop. Then up into the Dales themselves, onto Malham Cove and back down through Janet's Foss. Please note the backing track to this production is entirely royalty free, and created specifically for royalty free use purposes. Skipton Creek Keys Hall Of Fame Trifecta
Returning to Southern California after a maiden victory June 12 at Golden Gate Fields, Skipton Creek posted an 11-1 surprise in the $57900 allowance feature Friday night at Hollywood Park. The upset by the 3-year-old daughter of Aragorn was one of several in the Pick 6, so there is a carryover of $79818 into the Saturday card. Post time is 1 pm The Pick 6 will begin in the fifth race. Scheduled post time for the fifth is 3:05 pm The second of three victories for jockey David Flores, Skipton Creek tracked the pace set by Artuya, got the lead approaching the wire and held off the late surge of favored Rosehill Dew to win by a head. Owned by breeder Robert S. Evans, Skipton Creek, who is out of the Pleasant Colony mare Wye River, keyed an All-Star trifecta. The first three finishers all reside in Hall of Fame stables. A winner twice in five starts with earnings of $56520, Skipton Creek is trained by Neil Drysdale, who has been in Racing's Hall of Fame since 2000. Runner-up Rosehill Dew is trained by Ron McAnally, who was inducted in 1990. Artuya, who finished a close third, is in the barn of Bob Baffert, who entered the Hall in 2009. Covering the 1 1/16 miles on turf in 1:42.88, Skipton Creek paid $24, $9.80 and $4.80.
