This is a video I made of my "baby" growing up. LOL. Enjoy! :) Edit: To future impulsive husky owners who just wants this breed for looks yet knows nothing about them ( Please disregard this if you aren't :p ) If you are planning to get a husky, I highly recommend on researching about the breed beforehand. Many people (some I've known personally) impulsively get huskies solely for their looks only to find out they are difficult to care for and train. They are HIGHLY energetic dogs that are bred to run so they will RUN and PULL without proper training. Therefore, they need a lot of exercise. (Having a large backyard doesn't count!) They are highly intelligent and have a mind of their own so training may be a struggle of power but it's soooo worthwhile. :) Although they are wonderful dogs (very sweet, playful natured), they require a lot of patience and training. If you are planning to leave your huskies outside, make sure there is a shady place, unless you live in a cool place. You can find many reliable answers in books and websites about care and training. Please research!!! Note: Pictures look better in high quality!

Russia's nuclear industry has a past shrouded in Soviet secrecy. In the last 60 years it is thought tens of thousands of people have been forced from their homes after radioactive waste was dumped into a river in Siberia. The government recently announced the resettlement programme was over. However, four villages remain in the deadly radiation zone. Al Jazeera's Charles Stratford travelled to the Chilyabinsk region of South West Siberia. This is what he found.

Interested in adopting a Siberian Husky? Fallen for those beautiful blue eyes, that gorgeous luxurious coat, and the friendly temperament? Huskies are indeed a wonderful dog... for the right person. Are you the right person? Huskies are strong, stubborn, independent and rambunctious. The other way to say that is that they are powerful, persistent, smart and full of energy and stamina. These are desirable traits in a sled dog, but not in a house pet unless you train the dog well. Training a Siberian Husky can be an exercise in patience. They do not react well to coercive means of training, but they need a strong and intelligent owner who will be their pack leader. You don't have to be physically strong to be the pack leader, but you will have to be strong in character. If you cannot be the pack leader, your Husky will take over and make life miserable. That doesn't mean the Siberian Husky cannot be trained to be a polite and relatively calm house dog, but only IF it gets adequate exercise, companionship and training. If you watch this video and are still ready to make the commitment, then welcome to the family. Russia's Siberian tigers 'face extinction'
Worldwide tiger populations have plummeted from 100000 a century ago to less than 7000 today. According to the World Wildlife Fund, tigers could be extinct in the wild within a decade. The Siberian or Amur Tiger is one of the rarest in the world, with only around 500 left in the wild in Russia. But poaching, disease, and habitat loss from intensive logging and development continues to threaten populations. Al Jazeera's Robin Forestier-Walker reports.
