Die Uraufführung erfolgte am 20. August 1964 in der Barke in Hamburg. „Der Schut" war der erste Karl-May-Film der 1960er-Jahre, der im Orient spielt und ist der einzige der Orientfilme, zu dem Martin Böttcher die Musik komponiert hat. Durch die Wüste, 1936 verfilmt, war der erste Band des Orientzyklus. Nach der Reihenfolge der Bücher hätte Der Schut eigentlich erst nach Durchs wilde Kurdistan produziert werden dürfen, da er den Abschluss des Orientzyklus bildet. Karl May bereiste als fiktiver Ich-Erzähler den amerikanischen Westen und den Orient. Seinen grausamsten und düstersten Abenteuerroman schrieb er 1892. Die Erzählung Der Schut ist Bestandteil des sechsteiligen Abenteuers Im Schatten des Padischah, welches im vorderen Orient und auf dem Balkan spielt, damals Teile des Osmanischen Reiches. Die Hauptpersonen sind Kara Ben Nemsi, sein Freund Hadschi Halef Omar, der französische Geschäftsmann Henry Galingré und der erbarmungslose Schut.

Inspired by xMattinufanx's video: www.youtube.com I loved the way he used Maka's crazy side with the "la, la, la"s in the song, it made it so awesome, but I wanted to expand on that and make the AMV more focused on Maka and Crona. The Story of this AMV goes as follows: Maka is dedicated to get revenge for what Crona did to Soul in their first battle, so she uses the black blood inside Soul to forget her fear. Soul fights the Devil inside him for control over Maka and constantly attempts to communicate with her to no avail. The Black Blood cosumes soul and The Devil inside him assumes control over Maka. NOTE: This is my first time making a video with Sony Vegas, so please bare with me while I figure it out, it's a lot more complecated than Windows Movie Maker, haha.
