Japanese Amezaiku/飴細工(Candy sculpture)
This is the amezaiku stall at the Konomiya Hadaka Matsuri (Naked Festival) 2012. Amezaiku is the crafting of candy into different shapes, usually various animals/insects at festivals, though more complex constructs can be made. The candy used is a type of sugar syrup that's kept at high temperatures in a taffy-like state. The shokunin (craftsman or artisan) must work with the mixture quickly before it cools and hardens. Once hardened, edible paints can be applied to the surface. The shokunin at the Konomiya Hadaka Matsuri was a really laid-back guy who made a lot of dirty jokes with all the obaa-chan (eldery women). Though everything is typically busy at Japanese festivals, his stall had a really long wait throughout the day, and it took us about half an hour to make it to the front of the line. He had a set list of animals and insects that he could make. I asked him for an octopus, which wasn't on the list, but he made it anyway! He also made an owl for each group that ordered, which wasn't on the list, either. The sheet rock is finally up on the second floor. A new floor goes in my office and the tatami gets the boot. Lots of discussion about the new floor in the office, basement crawl space and tatami mats. I forgot to mention that when the mats get old and damaged, you can have them re surfaced for far less than having new ones made. That is as long as they are not infested, moldy or rotten. A good tatami core is worth refurbishing by a master tatami shokunin. Its a race to get certain things done before the contractor comes in to do the bath room and move the kitchen wall. Ahhhhhhh!

La storia di Soul Eater si concentra principalmente sugli studenti, noti come Meisters, della 'Shinigami Buki Shokunin Senmon Gakko' conosciuta come 'Shibusen' situata a Death City, nel Nevada, Stati Uniti.
