PiLam Shoegaze Festival Video Review
MUSIC: STellarscope- Just like flowers live at the PiLam Shoegaze festival Sept 17 2010 PiLam Shoegaze Festival featured: Screen Vinyl Image, Ceremony, Stellarscope, sounf of kaleidescope, and space ghost cowboys. I got off from work at 5PM, battled traffic on I-95 from Wilmington to Southern Philadelphia suburb of Havertown. I met up with my band mates, Bob Forman and Robert DeFlaviis. We packed my Nissan Xterra and headed towards Philadelphia. Despite it being a Friday night in the City of Brotherly Love traffic was light and we got to the PiLam in University City Philadelphia in no time. We circled around the block to park in the back alley of the PiLam. We met up with Alex Nic, the organizer of the event, and we discussed the logistics for the equipment load in. As we head out to download our gear we cross paths with Paul Baker and John Fedowitz of Ceremony, they were also bringing gear in. Once we were done with the fun part of being in a band (being your own roadie), we all went to Copa Banana for some Caribbean inspired food, drinks, and Coronas. The service and food were very good but it took some time to get our bill. We all get back to the PiLam to find out that missed most of Space Ghost Cowboys, who had been added to the bill as openers at the last minute! We met with Kim and Jake of Screen Vinyl Image and caught up with each other. Later on in the night I had a nice chat with the nice folks of Space Ghost Cowboys. Michael Knott- Shoegazer
In 2001, singer/songwriter Michael Knott released his solo album, Life of David. An artist who believes that "most bands are solo artists in a sense," Knott spent a large part of his career in various bands, including Aunt Betty's and Cush. With this release, he ventures alone into what he considers the most telling record he's ever done. Combining the styles of rock, American folk, and British pop, Knott offers throaty vocals that in and of themselves communicate passion and heartfelt sincerity. At times the music verges on gritty and raw, however, it is never lacking in honesty and artistic design. Devi Ever SHOEGAZER fuzz pedal
The Shoegazer from Devi combines the heavyness of the Soda Meiser with the face-ripping aggression of the Torns Peaker. For this demo I try to focus on the TP and combined sounds only, since I have a demo of the standalone SM. The TP offers crunchy, mean fuzz throughout the whole sweep of the Texture Knob. Rather than changing the intensity or level of the fuzz, the Texture knob literally changes the texture or overall sound/feel of the fuzz. Counter-clockwise, it's a thick beefy fuzz, and it thins out and brightens up when it's turned clockwise.
Ambient Guitar Loop [shoegaze post-rock]
