Shining - Ren Djävla Angest ..
Suicidal/Depressive Black Metal (early) band from Sweden. Formed in 1996, there was a lot of controversy with the false rumor of Kvarforth's suicide... Niklas Olsson (Kvarforth) was only 14 years old when the band started to play. Musicians like Hellhammer and Leere (Silencer), have performed with Shining in the past. The band has released an EP, 2 Compilations, 3 Splits and 7 Full-Length records. Shining has changed style throughout time and nowadays the band's current music has nothing to do with the older stuff. The Shining
"All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" -- or, rather, a homicidal boy in Stanley Kubrick's eerie 1980 adaptation of Stephen King's horror novel. With wife Wendy (Shelley Duvall) and psychic son Danny (Danny Lloyd) in tow, frustrated writer Jack Torrance (Jack Nicholson) takes a job as the winter caretaker at the opulently ominous, mountain-locked Overlook Hotel so that he can write in peace. Before the Overlook is vacated for the Torrances, the manager (Barry Nelson) informs Jack that a previous caretaker went crazy and slaughtered his family; Jack thinks it's no problem, but Danny's "shining" hints otherwise. Settling into their routine, Danny cruises through the empty corridors on his Big Wheel and plays in the topiary maze with Wendy, while Jack sets up shop in a cavernous lounge with strict orders not to be disturbed. Danny's alter ego, "Tony," however, starts warning of "redrum" as Danny is plagued by more blood-soaked visions of the past, and a blocked Jack starts visiting the hotel bar for a few visions of his own. Frightened by her husband's behavior and Danny's visit to the forbidding Room 237, Wendy soon discovers what Jack has really been doing in his study all day, and what the hotel has done to Jack.

In King's book, the Overlook Hotel is a haunted place that takes possession of its off-season caretaker and provokes him to murderous rage against his wife and young son. Kubrick's movie is an existential Road Runner cartoon (his steadicam scurrying through the hotel's labyrinthine hallways), in which the cavernously empty spaces inside the Overlook mirror the emptiness in the soul of the blocked writer, who's settled in for a long winter's hibernation. As many have pointed out, King's protagonist goes mad, but Kubrick's Jack Torrance (Jack Nicholson) is Looney Tunes from the moment we meet him--all arching eyebrows and mischievous grin. (Both Nicholson and Shelley Duvall reach new levels of hysteria in their performances, driven to extremes by the director's fanatical demands for take after take after take.) The Shining is terrifying--but not in the way fans of the novel might expect. When it was redone as a TV miniseries (reportedly because of King's dissatisfaction with the Kubrick film), the famous topiary-animal attack (which was deemed impossible to film in 1980) was there--but the deeper horror was lost. Here's Pyro! Sorry for the googly eyes, couldn't fix it haha. I wanted to make a movie that was serious and that wasn't just cheaply made with stock animations or Gmod. It was a fun video to make, but at the same time a pain. Getting custom animations to work on the tf2 models correctly is a chore. Just something simple for people to put on their MySpaces, etc. This is the version from the old VHS tape of Pulse (which IMHO had much better camera angles than the new DVD). The beginning and one verse from the middle (at 6:13) had to be edited out to fit it into YouTube's 10 min. requirement. But the whole movie they showed at the concert is here since it's probably supposed to represent Syd's life (or anybody's).... This is from Earl's Court, London in October of 1994.

While writing an article about The Shining I found a bizarre detail in the river of blood. I've reached my conclusion about it, but have tried to present multiple interpretations in this video so you can draw your own conclusions. Stanley Kubrick was a master of subliminal encoding and, as always, he's crammed enough detail into this one shot to justify a video analysis in itself.
