So far, in this age of planet hunting, we've yet to find anything like our solar system... with rocky inner planets in neat circular orbits, and evenly spaced gas giants on the periphery. Instead, astronomers have glimpsed a diverse planetary zoo, with giant planets in wide orbits around their parent stars, others that swing in so close they leave a comet-like tail, or molten rocky worlds emblazoned with oceans of lava. These finds have added new complexity to theories of how solar systems emerge in the birth of a star. As dust and gas swirl into the newborn star, they form a proto-planetary disk. Within this Frisbee-like structure, gravity sculpts planetary bodies that grow in size, sweeping up smaller bodies that form around them. Current theory holds that giant planets, forming on the periphery, commonly migrate into the inner solar system. This confirms the observation of so-called hot Jupiters orbiting perilously close to their parent stars. But these giants may clear out smaller rocky planets that form close to the star, creating a planetary desert... just where you'd hope to find life. Haruki Murakami (村上春樹, Murakami Haruki?, born January 12, 1949) is a Japanese writer and translator.[1] His works of fiction and non-fiction have garnered him critical acclaim and numerous awards. He is considered an important figure in postmodern literature. The Guardian praised him as "among the world's greatest living novelists" for his works and achievements.[2] Murakami was born in Japan during the post--World War II baby boom.[3] Although born in Kyoto, he spent his youth in Shukugawa (Nishinomiya), Ashiya and Kobe.[4][5] His father was the son of a Buddhist priest,[6] and his mother the daughter of an Osaka merchant.[7] Both taught Japanese literature.[8] Since childhood, Murakami has been heavily influenced by Western culture, particularly Western music and literature. He grew up reading a range of works by American writers, such as Kurt Vonnegut and Richard Brautigan, and he is often distinguished from other Japanese writers by his Western influences.[9] Murakami studied drama at Waseda University in Tokyo, where he met his wife, Yoko. Popular belief has it that Anastasia Romanov escaped the assassination when the rest of the Imperial Family was murdered during the Russian Revolution. The grandchildren of a South African woman claimed that their deceased grandmother was the Grand Duchess of Russia. She was presumed to be Anastasia. They claimed she escaped and lived out her life in fear and hiding as a commoner in South Africa. After exhuming the woman's remains from a secret grave, we took the remains to four universities including Oxford to prove their claim. Astonishingly the results concluded that is was not Anastasia who escaped the revolutionaries' bullets but her sister Maria.
