Making a Spanish Polychrome Sculpture
Seventeenth-century Spanish polychrome sculpture was intended to appear as lifelike as possible. Compared to bronze or marble statues, sculpted and painted wooden figures--often with glass eyes and wigs--achieve a remarkable realistic effect. Artists specialized in particular Spanish polychromy techniques, such as estofado: painting and incising to create rich silk fabrics with raised patterns in gold and silver used for the garments, and encarnaciones: blending and applying of oil paint for lips, hair, and modulations of the skin. Decadence Sculpture
SCULPTURE Here I am again on the brink of destruction Lost all senses of comprehension What I have seen is cold reality The stage has frozenb but still approaching Death takes its toll on me Mind decay Disminded energy Haunted by yesterday Dont want my soul to bleed Senses astray Lost sanity Time to pay Hidden in this world that was made for me Standing alone, I am freezing The door is locked now, Im trapped in me One-way path and a missing key Chaos in my mind, I am lost in thought Never an end, why wont it stop? A sculpture ideal to be perfect in all ways But what I see is a statue with no face Death takes its toll on me Mind decay Disminded energy Haunted by yesterday Dont want my soul to bleed Senses astray Lost sanity Time to pay Hidden in this world that was made for me Standing alone, I am freezing The door is locked now, Im trapped in me One-way path and a missing key Looking down at the past forgotten Undying memory of what was and that should have been Youre not the fear, its me Is there something here that is pulling me back? Did I lose myself in this attack? Arranging my minds complex thoughts To be released from this predestined loss Death takes its toll on me Mind decay Disminded energy Haunted by yesterday Dont want my soul to bleed Senses astray Lost sanity Time to pay Hidden in this world that was made for me Standing alone, I am freezing The door is locked now, Im trapped in me One-way path that no one can see
Amazing Magnetic Art Sculpture!!
This art piece is by SACHIKO KODAMA and currenly on display at the Samuel Freeman Gallery at the Bergamot Station, in Santa Monica, CA. THIS VIDEO IS NOT TIME LAPSE. IT IS ALL FILMED AND PLAYED BACK IN REAL TME. In 2000, Sachiko began work on a ferrofluid art project that she named "Protrude, Flow". Ferrofluid is a very interesting material originally developed by NASA it has now found itself been used for a whole range of devices including dampers for controlling and stabilizing large building that move around in the wind. Whats also amazing is that they have such lovely visual qualities when magnetized. The term liquid architecture is used a lot in interactive architecture based on the ideas of how architecture becomes animated by adding the 4th Dimension of Time. Sachiko has taken this idea of liquid architecture more literally with these stunning sculptures made from Ferrofluid which changes its state by the introduction of electro-magnetic waves into the fluid turning it solid. As you stand around and watch this piece, you get literally mesmerized as the ferrofluid (guided by magnets) follows its track and changes its forms. Music is by Phillip Glass

The Augmented Sculpture Project
About the project (written by the creator, Pablo Valbuena): "This project is focused on the temporary quality of space, investigating space-time not only as a three dimensional environment, but as space in transformation. For this purpose two layers are produced that explore different aspects of the space-time reality. On the one hand the physical layer, which controls the real space and shapes the volumetric base that serves as support for the next level. The second level is a virtual projected layer that allows controlling the transformation and sequentiality of space-time. The blending of both levels gives the impression of physical geometry suitable of being transformed. The orverlapping produces a three-dimensional space augmented by a transformable layer suitable to be controlled, resulting in the capacity through the installation of altering multiple dimensions of space-time." I did not create this video. If you are the owner and want it removed, please contact me.
