O Canada Scenery
Canada Flimstrip which was a powerpoint that a friend sent me and I thought it had great pictures indicative of the breadth of Canada and some stunning photos. I added some Canadian folk music from a Smithsonian collection which although strident is more in keeping with my experiences travelling around Canada from East Coast to West and the Arctic. Enjoy!The pictures are real though exceptional and so is the music. Some moments, very special, I have seen real images like this in this great country.This is potential archival material as it portrays a real sample of scenery that I can relate too as an expatriate - from the red soil of PEI to a farm in Saskatchewan.

Yu Hongmei began her erhu study at the age of eight, and she studied at the Attached High School of the ChinaCentral Music University and then the China Central Music University where she earned her Bachelor's and Master's degree. At the university she was taught by professors including Zhang Shao, Su Anguo, Lan Yusong and Liu Changfu; she also learned Banhu, Gaohu, Jinghu, Zhuihu and other national musical instruments with some masters. She won the "Pro Musicis International Award" in New York City. Her album A Collection of Erhu Concertos of Yu Hong Mei was given the 4th China Golden Record Award. She was also the first Chinese musician to receive the coveted Indie Award in the category of "Best Traditional World Music" for the CD entitled String Glamour. Mountain Scenery Recorded at Loveland Pass Up In The Rocky Mountains Of Colorado (1080p HD)
These are some video clips that I had recorded up at Loveland Pass which is located on US Route 6 up at an elevation of 11900 feet above sea level ( 3655 Meters) on the Continental Divide and located 800 vertical feet above the Interstate I-70 freeway Eisenhower Tunnel and about 50 miles West of Denver, Colorado. Normal traffic no longer have to take US Route 6 over this mountain pass since the I-70 Eisenhower nearly 1.7 mile long Tunnel was built back in 1973. Only trucks with hazardous material or trucks which are higher than 15' 11" cannot use the I-70 Eisenhower Tunnel and have to transverse over this mountain pass on US Route 6 to bypass the tunnel. The Loveland Ski area as well as the Arapaho Basin Ski area are nearby as can be seen in the video clips. For more information about Loveland Pass, go to en.wikipedia.org I used my Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX1 still camera in 1080p HD video mode to record these video clips. The files were converted from .mpg-4 to .avi format in my video editing program. This could be the reason why there is some jitter in the videos where I was panning across the scenery. It was windy, so, a lot of wind noise was picked up by the camera stereo mic as well. Synthetic World- Scenery Channel
Synthetic World- Scenery Channel Bio:: Scenery Channel was founded in January 1999 by Tommi Inkilä and Pasi Hiltula. They both shared the vision of a band that could incorporate different styles into one. Soon they found Olli Jakola, whose rhythmic precision was just what they needed. The core of the band had formed. From day one, this band was really concentrating on creating its own material. In 2000, Scenery Channel was strengthened by the unique and charismatic voice of Mikko Lankinen. Quickly after this the band took a new step towards recognition, as it was chosen to play live at Tavastia (Helsinki, Finland) from over 200 contestants. It was also the bands first gig outside its hometown, Oulu. The show was a blast and showed the chameleon-like nature of this progressive rock band. Soon after this gig Scenery Channel started to work on songs that finally ended up being on an EP called Grey, released in 2001. The following years were problematic due to line-up changes. The obligatory military service caused problems too. After two years of turbulent times though, the band released an EP named Fallen Leaf. This was a huge milestone in the bands history: this release was offered on the Internet for free after which the band received countless messages from all over the world. The spectacular Bernina route from St. Moritz to Tirano, Italy is the highest (7391 ft.) open air crossing of the Swiss Alps by rail. Awarded Unesco World Heritage Status in 2009 this magnificent scenery gets my vote as the most beautiful mountain rail scenery in the world. Shot in HD on Christmas day 2004 the cold and scenery at times literally took my breath away. The Bernina line is 100 years old in 2010.
