Bill White Plays Satchmo
This is an appeal from friends of Bill White to musicians everywhere who care about a fellow musician in need. Bill, a long-time professional musician in Orlando, Florida, has serious health problems. Bill recently had operations to replace both his knees. He has been in a wheelchair for the past three years. His expenses for the operations, and now his rehabilitation, are substantial. His musician friends in Orlando have run fund-raising concerts, but a lot of his medical bills still need to be paid to make things work out. He also is undergoing dialysis three times a week for kidney disease. Despite these challenges, this terrific musician and wonderful person struggles to go to work five nights a week entertaining locals and tourists at The Vines Grill in Orlando. He is the strongest, most positive-thinking man I have ever known, says long-time friend and fellow musician Barry James. As musicians we should care about each other. Here is a musician who needs your help badly. You can make a donation to Bill White for any amount. Please send your check to: William H. White Satchmo Benefit c/o Wachovia Bank 21 N. Pat Satchmo - What's Going On - 197x Not Donny Hathaway as previously informed...my bad :-) Originally sung by Marvin Gaye released 1971 Lyrics:- Mother, mother There's too many of you crying Brother, brother, brother There's far too many of you dying You know we've got to find a way To bring some lovin' here today - Yea Father, father We don't need to escalate You see, war is not the answer For only love can conquer hate You know we've got to find a way To bring some lovin' here today Picket lines and picket signs Don't punish me with brutality Talk to me, so you can see Oh, what's going on What's going on Yea, what's going on Ah, what's going on In the mean time Right on, baby Right on Right on Father, father, everybody thinks we're wrong Oh, but who are they to judge us Simply because our hair is long Oh, you know we've got to find a way To bring some understanding here today Oh Picket lines and picket signs Don't punish me with brutality Talk to me So you can see What's going on Ya, what's going on Tell me what's going on I'll tell you what's going on - Uh Right on baby Right on baby

Creepy Louis Armstrong Singing Doll - Low Battery
This is my Louis Armstrong singing doll. My step-dad got me this several years ago as a gag gift. We thought it was creepy then, especially how it looks psychotic when it says "Dolly". This is what it is supposed to look/sound like: www.youtube.com Today, we played it and the batteries are low and it is even creepier. Instead of "Dolly", he just makes this hissing sound and looks possessed. Hilarious.

"Gimmie A Pigfoot"-Bessie Smith(re-post)
This is a re-post of my original, made possible by Chuck Johnson sending me a 'cleaner' audio track. MANY thanks Chuck. My original posting proved to be the most popular of all my postings to date, so I hope this one is equally well received. There are some new photographs too. "Gimmie A Pigfoot" was written by Wesley Wilson and Bessie is accompanied by "Buck and his Band", the line-up being:- Buck Washington; leader and pno. Frank Newton; cnt. Benny Goodman; clt. Jack Teagarden; tmb. Chu Berry; ten.sax. and Billy Taylor; bss. This audio track certainly gives a better playback of Frank Newton's impressive cornet ! Enjoy!!
