AA Battery test Sanyo Eneloop 2000 vs Energizer 2450 vs Beecroft 2800 batteries
Correction: In the video I said Sony Eneloops, instead of Sanyo. Can't be bothered re-doing the video and uploading again. Objective: As a full time photographer I need FAST flash recycling so I don't miss important shots, so I thought I would do a test with some popular brands to see who is the beast of battery land. The objective is to find out which battery gives the fastest recycling time in high demand situations such as using bounce flash in large rooms or full power daylight fill flash, eg weddings on the white sandy beeches in the blazing summer sun. (silly I know but you do get 'em). Long term energy storage is not considered as batteries are charged the night before an event. It should be noted that the mAh rating is not how much power the battery can punch out, but more like how much petrol can be stored in the tank. So this test is not meant prove that more milli Amp hour's will give faster recycling times. How many flashes per charge is not considered as multiple sets of the 'winning' battery will be taken to events along with the CP-E3 battery pack. I don't have two CP-E3 battery packs to use in the test so comparisons were done using the speedlights alone. Testing notes: - All batteries were charged at the same time using Sanyo 8 cell chargers - Batteries were left for 1hr to cool down to simulate real world usage conditions. - Canon 580EX II speedlights were triggered by Cactus V4 triggers (100% fire rate) Conclusion: Energizers win for full power ...
