That doesn't change the fact that it is used and translated today in ways that impact on the world around us. So "what it was supposed to mean" is almost irrelevant when people are hell bent on making it mean something else that they can use against the people of this world. Paul Anka Verboten
Paul Anka wrote the music score for Samuel Fuller's "Verboten!" film in 1958 but the song "Verboten" (meaning "Forbidden" in German) has been composed in 1958 by the 1961 Academy Award winner Harry Sukman (1912-1984) the lyrics belongs to Hal David's elder brother Mack David (1912-1993) (Paul Anka has several songs written with Hal David or by Hal David, but just this one with Mack, Hal's brother). "Verboten" was the B side of the "Midnight" single and it's a shame that it spent just five weeks in the top reaching the highest 69 place in the chart in 28 of June 1958. The single was arranged and the orchestra conducted by the legendary Don Costa. Samuel Fuller skillfully intercuts footage of the German death camps with scenes from this thought-provoking drama about a forbidden, post-war love affair. David (James Best) is a GI stationed in Germany with the American Military Government. He falls in love with Helga (Susan Cummings), a young German woman, and she reciprocates his feelings. But their romance is not condoned by either culture and made all the more difficult because a troublesome gang of neo-Nazis is on the rampage, killing, stealing, and helping war criminals evade capture.

The year is 1973 and the goodfellas are part of the infamous 'mafia row', a group of fellow mobsters who lived comfortably like kings during their time in prison, dining on fine food and wine. Paul Cicero used a razor blade to slice garlic so thin it liquified in the pan with just a little olive oil. Vinnie made the sauce, adding veal, beef and pork for flavor, but was known for using too many onions. Johnny Dio cooked up great steaks in a frying pan. They received regular deliveries of fresh steaks and lobster which they kept on ice. Henry Hill smuggled in foods such as bread, peppers, onions, salami, prosciutto, cheese, scotch, and red/white wines.

1st President Exhumation
The Connecticut Norwich Historical Society has available for the public two historic tape recordings of the reinterment of Samuel and Martha Huntington. Some 400 people gathered that bright, warm November day in the Colonial Cemetery to view the mpressive ceremony. The tomb had been completely restored after being in shameful condition. The remains of Samuel and Martha Huntington were removed by Mark Helmboldt of Church and Allen and then re-entombed. The First and Second Connecticut Foot Guard gave military presence and honor to the ceremony. A most creative and talented professional television producer from Niantic, Paul Kramm, recorded the entire restoration and the funeral in a marvelous l7 minute production. It presents the entire reinterment funeral program with remarks by Congressman Rob Simmons, presidential historian Stanley Klos, and Jackie Dodd, wife of Senator Christopher Dodd. The tape recordings provide graphic insight into the great, historic life of Samuel Huntington, signer of the Declaration of Independence, first President of the United States, and Governor of the State of Connecticut.
