High Notes Of Tobias Sammet (Edguy, Avantasia)
1. First clip is a wonderful B4 from the song Inside from the first Avantasia album (2001). It is done in a very soft manner compared to Sammet's usual high notes. 2. Now we have a C5 from the Edguy song Painting On The Wall from the album Mandrake (2001). This is where he still used his operatic technique and didn't blend much chest into his higher notes, hence the light and clean sound. 3. Time for a change! C5 from the song Journey To Arcadia from the newest Avantasia album Angel Of Babylon (2010), this one is totally different, it is possibly done in 100% chest voice, sounds very rough and raspy. This is the style Tobias is focusing on now. 4. Now his best C5, fantastic ending of the Avantasia song The Story Ain't Over from the Lost In Space Part I EP (2007). Very resonant and powerful mixed voice note. 5. This one is very well blended C#5 from the song King Of Fools (Album - Hellfire Club (2004)). This is the time he started changing his vocal style and the whole Hellfire Club album represents the peak of his vocal abilities as it mixed both his clean and rough approach. He never nailed this note live to my knowledge. 6. Similar sounding note, just a semitone higher, D5. The song is The Spirit Will remain (Again Hellfire Club) and it is Tobi's absolute best vocal performance. It's worth checking out. 7. Time to get a little rougher. Totally raw and more screamy. The pitch is D5 (with harmony F5) and the song is The Wicked Symphony, the tittle track of another new ...

Record deal: Nuclear Blast Records. Album scheduled for release in April 3rd 2010. The Japanese edition on 31th March.
