Rotorfest 2010 - CH-53E Startup and Takeoff
At the end of the airshow, they towed this CH-53E out to the runway and it took off. Quite an impressive sight! I only wish I had video of the fast low pass he did right after this. I thought they were departing and wasn't expecting him to come around for one last 'hot pass.' I wish I had gotten it on video. It was about 50 feet off the ground gound probably 80+ mph. Very cool!!

Rotorfest 2009 - Part 5 - Kaman K-MAX Helicopter with Intermeshing Rotors
This is the Kaman K-MAX helicopter which uses two intermeshing rotors. It's pretty incredible. It also uses a servo flap controlled rotor system. Instead of the rotor blades angle of attack being changed by twisting the blade on a hinge near the blade root, flaps on each blade are moved to change the angle of attack, similar to the way a fixed wing aircraft is controlled. Rotor Fest Helicopter Show 09
Here is some video and photos of the Rotor Fest that took place in Westchester PA on from September 26-27. I was invited by Capt. Fred who was one of the guys that was in charge of contoling the take off and landings of the helicopters. It was a great day this year and I had a lot of fun. Enjoy! --Sorry for the crappy video quality. The helicopter ride was taken on my iPhone and the other video at the end is from my HD digital camera yet it does not look anywhere near HD to me. My iPhone has 10 times better quality but i did now know that my digital camera would be so bad with video. As you can see the pics came out nice but again sorry for the bad video. Next year i will be taking a real HD camera not a phone or anything else.
