download the MP3: www.ronaldjenkees.com **this tune is on my new CD, Disorganized Fun. I named it Guitar Sound. just havin some fun with a guitar sound (Hard Ramp AS1&2) on the Motif XS8. Some have asked about the "low notes" that come out when I hit those two keys up top - those are guitar effects built in the patch and for whatever reason, Yamaha put those effects on the high keys. I made the background beat using FL Studio. I start the beat by hitting the space-bar on my computer keyboard before I play on the synth. PS. I've read some reviews of this vid as if I'm trying to be a "keytar" player (apparently not a desirable thing, but how can you not like Edgar Winter's "Frankenstein") and that I should just play a real guitar. LOL @ some of those same people who probably play guitar hero (nothing against it but hopefully you see my point)! The irony! The point is, folks, if you find a fun/inspiring sound to jam with, by all means, you should JAM WITH IT! I don't care if you find a $3.00 plastic trumpet. Don't worry about the technicalities and what people say. In the long run it's about the fun that YOU have making music. Thanks for watching!!!

I messed with it quite a bit before I filmed, but each time it came out drastically different. LOL I used FL Studio 8 and my Motif XS8 to make this one. The sound I'm using is actually an e-piano (patch is called "Drive EP AS1" on the Motif XS series. I adjusted the distortion and delay to make it sound like it is. I ended up naming my 2nd CD after this tune: www.ronaldjenkees.com **This track will be on my next CD - I'll update here when that's released it cut me off when I said hello youtubes! not sure why it did that. THIS IS FUN!!!!! I don't have much done on this beat, but like usual, I thought I would upload the beginnings of it. It's been one of my favorite beats to work on so far. It'll be on my next CD for sure. I'm super-thankful for all the comments, subscriptions, and for those that check out my CD. FYI: I made the beat using FL Studio (software) and the Yamaha Motif XS8. The patch I'm using is called "Buzz Around". Again, I like this new keyboard, but I discovered I'm not a fan of weighted keys (except for piano stuff). I might trade down to the XS7 eventually.

STS9 Collab - Using their drums to jam with!! FUN!

Some background info: Zach, the drummer for the band STS9, asked me to remix a song of theirs. His drums from "Beyond Right Now" ended up inspiring me to make a whole new tune. I'll update here when I know where/when it'll be available to download. I got a ton of emails from friends telling me to check these guys out so I was excited when they contacted me and I owe thanks to them for inspiring me to create this collab tune. Hey you guys! Randomly bought this, SWEET SONG I really like it. As the wise nonzzero once told me, this song reminds him of Zelda. Anyway. First off, I want to get the fact that I recycled a bunch of people for this particular song haha It seems like EVERYONE had trouble with this song on bass... Oh well Also, I don't think this song has any actual guitar in it, just sayin' First I was doing a guitar sightread (with breakneck speed so I did pretty well, 96% goldstar on my sightrad) but then I messaged Dogmatic and asked him to do it with me and we were getting ready to do it but then Splync shows up! So it was us three and then we did the song once And afterwards I was like "holy smokes i suck, brb practice moed tmie" and then Dogmatic was all like "nah nah nah, I have a gf so that automatically makes me superior to you, ima go play farmville with her" and Splync just vanished so it was just me with a less than stellar performance recorded on video So I message up Schmegery (who ALWAYS seems to have some kind of female in his party hah) and nothing, and so I basically resorted to begging smokeybluzz to ditch her full band she was with and she actually did it for little ol' elfson!
