Roja
Roja revolves around Rishi Kumar's (Arvind Swamy) love for his motherland. An eminent cryptologist, he goes to a village in Tirunelveli district for his matrimony, but the girl declares her love to someone else. Strangely, Rishi requests her sister Roja's (Madhubala) hand in marriage. Both get married and live in the city. Working for the Indian government, Rishi is assigned a posting at an army communications center in Kashmir. Roja and Rishi lead a loving, romantic life. Roja's world is shattered when Rishi is abducted by militant Kashmiri separatists who demand the release of their terrorist leader Wasim Khan from prison, held by Indian military forces. Roja pleads with politicians and the military for help, but she has little success.

Kaish aka Majnu(Rishi Kapoor )and Laila (Ranjeeta Kaur) are born to rival clans, the Amaris and the Sharwaris. They are madly in love with each other but the two clan heads decide to separate their children. Years later, Kaish and Laila meet again in the market place and once again rekindle their love. They start meeting each other secretly, all over again. But Laila's hot-tempered brother Tabrez (Ranjeet) proves to be a problem for the lovers and soon Kaish's father dies at the hands of Tabrez. Rishi is a mechanical engineer and owns an automobile workshop. He has invented something new and is keen to take it to the world. His principles and upright nature is enough to make Anu Mehta fall head over heels for him. Rishi reciprocates Anu's love and they plan to get married. Anu prods Rishi to market his invention and rise in life so that her brother would give consent to their marriage without any hesitation.
