Yellow Pages Scammer Gets Rickroll'd Over Phone
www.spamlaws.com This is the exact type of scam I was dealing with. They only got as far as paragraph 2(on that website) with me. Recently I've been getting calls from someone who supposedly represents yellow pages. I wasn't very suspicious until he was asking for a credit card number to clear the balance. I also noticed the number showed up as unavailable on my cell phone. Not wanting to make accusations I patiently waited for the invoice, I had to check in my spam folder eventually. Of course nothing on it looked authentic at all. The e-mail provided was fake as well. If I clicked on the web address it would redirect me to the REAL Yellow Pages, making it look authentic. But I knew any person can redirect their own domain to any website they want. I also called the real Yellow Pages, and they couldn't find me in the system. And my actual business listing is with Yellow Book, and nothing was owed on that. I did some research on google and found that the calls I was getting were exactly like the calls others have received from these scammers. Some have even been fooled into giving their credit card number. But thankfully I caught on, and decided to stall this person until I could get a recording ready. That alone probably made him impatient. I even asked him to call a certain time of day, which he then called early, so I asked him to call back in 15 minutes. 30 minutes later he calls, and I had everything ready. After the first Rickroll, he hung up, and called an hour ...
