£18 million marine energy fund
A multi-million pound fund to help develop Scotland's first commercial wave and tidal power arrays was opened today. Addressing the AllEnergy conference in Aberdeen, First Minister Alex Salmond announced that Scotland's Marine Renewables Commercialisation Fund (MRCF) was now open for bids by marine energy developers. He also announced the first award from the £70 million National Renewables Infrastructure Fund (N-RIF) -- a £500000 grant to support the transformation of a strategic dock, ten miles from Glasgow city centre to create a key manufacturing location for renewable energy.

A 250A DC breakerbox from Midnight Solar, Xantrex DR-2412 2400Watt Inverter, and a Reliance transfer switch. So far the system has cost about $6000 with everything overbuilt to be upgradeable with more solar panels as soon as we get some more funding! Algal biofuels research at Montana State University
Biofuels are a broad assortment of fuels that in one way or another come from renewable biomass. With oil price increases, depletion of petroleum reserves, and a need for energy independence, renewable biofuels are gaining increased public and scientific attention. Biodiesel is currently made from animal fat and vegetable oils through a process called transesterification. Often it is made from recycled grease, but these oil sources are limited, and new more efficient methods of renewable oil and hydrocarbon production are needed. At Montana State University, our students and faculty are working with a number of federal agencies and private industry to develop advanced methods for third generation renewable biofuels that will lead the way to increased energy independence. Specifically, our interdisciplinary research is focused on discovery, growth, and characterization of novel microbial strains and on developing a fundamental understanding of the metabolic machinery that leads these organisms to produce renewable fuels and feedstocks. They created the equivalent of 8 nuclear power plants of solar. They might get to 100% renewable energy in Germany by 2030. This can create many new jobs in the US!

Searaser - Wave Power
We're developing an innovation called Searaser -- which we believe could solve two of the biggest challenges facing renewable energy -- cost and variable output. Invented by Devon engineer Alvin Smith, Searaser harnesses the almost constant power of ocean swells to create electricity on demand. It's such a simple design and we believe it'll produce electricity cheaper than any other wave-power technology, or indeed any other type of renewable energy. Potentially it could be cheaper than all existing sources of electricity -- including gas, coal and nuclear -- and it's carbon free.

We have 2 Evergreen Solar panels 180 watts each, Tristar 60Amp Controller, 2, 400 watt Air-x wind generators, about 8 marine deep cycle batteries from walmart now. A 250A DC breakerbox from Midnight Solar, Xantrex DR-2412 2400Watt Inverter, and a Reliance transfer switch. So far the system has cost about $6000 with everything overbuilt to be upgradeable with more solar panels as soon as we get some more funding! More videos soon lots has changed since winter has set in.
