[HD version of the other video] Hi everyone. We've been working very hard and we hope you like what we've made. This is just our 1 year report, after which we will probably go quiet again while we finish our work. This demo only shows what was ready at the time, we have a lot of really good stuff here but we are keeping it secret for now. (Yes grumpy forum people, we do have animation, but you'll just have to be patient.) It's been a busy year, and all is going very well; we only have 9 people working here, but will be hiring a few more soon. We also have another piece of technology that isn't graphics, but does something game related that's also pretty clever, but we'll keep that secret for now. Want to cement render a wall but not sure how to do it? this clip shows you how using sand, cement and water, I dont use pre-mixed material and just add water this is how it should be done in my view, In the video I will be using a four to one measurments or in other words four shovels of sand to one shovel of cement powder 100kgs sand 25kgs cement powder, NO STONES each job that requires cement needs diferent meaurments for my job here it is used to render a wall in this garden but if you are using the material for brick laying you would have a 3 to 1 mix, I should say that you should never mix on a road as you will be in trouble from the municipality as it will stain the tarmac but here every one does it and cleans up after, If it is your first time doing this job you might need some help taking turns as mixing on your own even a small amount like this will hurt your back by the evening so take turns and take your time, The main mixing is at the begining when the sand and cement are dry you will see a change of colour from red and grey to only grey and is done by making small piles, adding water is only to wet the material but this is a heavy job, instructions are in the clip of what I am doing and some tips, you could ask a builder to do the job for you who may employ a labourer to do the mixing but if you have the time and tools do have a go yourself it can be fun you will need a flat shovel a bucket, a wet wheelbarrow and a trowel, in the clip i dont show how i clean ...

Real-Time Rendering and Animation of Trees
This video shows a screen capture of a demo which runs at 60 fps. It combines novel methods to shade leafs and to animate highly detailed trees. Each of the tens of thousands of leaves and thousands of branches is individually animated while all leaves react correctly to the light, both in reflectance and translucence. The lighting is completely dynamic and the scene is rendered using HDR and a linear rendering pipeline together with a Reinhard tone mapper. The sky is created using the Preetham skylight model which also drives the color of the multi-bounce ambient occlusion maps. A high resolution Poisson-filtered shadow map creates accurate shadows including correct self-shadowing. The methods applied have been published in: Physically Based Real-Time Translucency for Leaves (Eurographics Symposium on Rendering 2007) Physically Guided Animation of Trees (Eurographics 2009)

Google Chrome Speed Tests
These speed tests were filmed at actual web page rendering times. If you're interested in the technical details, read on! Equipment used: - Computer: MacBook Pro laptop with Windows installed - Monitor - 24" Asus: We had to replace the standard fluorescent backlight with very large tungsten fixtures to funnel in more light to capture the screen. In addition, we flipped the monitor 180 degrees to eliminate a shadow from the driver board and set the system preferences on the computer to rotate 180 degrees. No special software was used in this process. - Camera: Phantom v640 High Speed Camera at 1920 x 1080, films up to 2700 fps "Why does allrecipes.com in the potato gun sequence appear at once, and not the text first and images second? And why does it appear to render from bottom of the screen to the top?" Chrome sends the rendered page to the video card buffer all at once, which is why allrecipes.com appears at once, and not with the text first and images second. Chrome actually paints the page from top to bottom, but to eliminate a shadow from the driver board, we had to flip the monitor upside down and set the system preferences in Windows to rotate everything 180 degrees, resulting in the page appearing to render from bottom to top. "Why does the top one third of the page appear first on the weather.com page load?" Sometimes only half the buffer gets filled before the video card sends its buffer over to the LCD panel.
