If you got an starving evaporator in an old domestic refrigerator, you have three options. 1.- Re-charge the unit. It's cheap and you will have the refrigerator cooling efficiently in the next 30 minutes for at least 3 years. Now if you want, any way, to fix the leak or replace it, don't rush, you have all the time to do it. 2.-Find where the leak is and fix it. Good choice if you have time to expend and are good enough to do it. It was not the intention of this video to discuss this point. 3.- Replace it. A few simple do it your self repairs that just might save you thousands. What you want to look for is a small compartment that looks like a vent on the outside of the unit. Turn the screws and the door comes off and you will be able to see the back side of your refrigerator. Common problems with your refrigerator are improper cooling. This is caused by a "Dirty Burner Assembly". Looks like a small metal box usually to the bottom right hand corner. Before you start repairing on this you need to be sure that the power is unplugged, that there's no 12 volt power and that the gas is unplugged. The gas can be turned off by a knob on the bottom left hand side, turn it so that it's up and down. Next thing you want to do is go back to the Burner and take out the screw and slide the box out. The burner is located all the way to the back. What happens is that when it burns rust fills up inside the fluid, and it falls down on top of the burner assembly. Even though it is lit and still produces heat, it's not enough heat to keep the cooling unit cooling all the way it needs to be. So what you need to do is take some canned air and blow out all the dust and rust in that compartment, tap on the compartment above a few times to get all the excess out as well. Keep repeating ...

While becoming popular in the automotive world, this sku has its advantages in the architectural world as well. In this instance, we are applying to a refrigerator to be moved to a club basement setting. First, make sure your refrigerator has a smooth surface, free of deep knicks or scratches. Clean with a light cleaning solution and a microfiber cloth. Be sure to apply 3Ms Primer 94 to all edges, including any embossed pieces. After priming, remove the liner from the DI-NOC, and align your 1st piece for installation. When your DI-NOC piece is properly set, squeegee out all air bubbles from the center, outward. Squeegee around any embossed pieces, such as the nameplate, tightening into the corners. Once tightened, cut and trim around the embossed piece, and pull away the DI-NOC. Continue to squeegee all air bubbles out, in all corners. Then use your heat gun on all exposed edges to promote sealing. Apply Primer to your next area of installation, and repeat as previously instructed, remembering to squeegee outward, tighten corners, and heat seal all edges. Silent air compressor using a refrigerator compressor.
Most light duty compressors are extremely loud. In this video, I swap a fridge compressor with the original. The end result is a whisper quiet unit. I don't have the technical specs on the compressor. I just randomly receive these units to be scrapped. But for comparison's sake, the original fill time was 10mins. With the fridge compressor it takes 5mins.
