Occam's Razor is named for William of Ockham, an English Franciscan friar, logician and theologian. His writings on limiting plurality in arguments has been transformative in the history of science, reason, and medicine. While the heuristic that bears his name is very useful, it should not be seen as a substitute for good empirical testing. It relies on subjective assessment of simplicity, rather than an objective tests in evaluating arguments. I've borrowed heavily from the Wikpedia articles on Occam's razor and William of Ockham. How to Sharpen and Reuse Your Razor Blades for Years
This shows how to sharpen multi-blade razor blade cartridges after they have exhausted their normal usefulness... the inventor of this technique, Terry Pundiak of Easton, PA , has been using the same cartridge for over 20 months, continuing having close, smooth shaves with no facial nicks. When a razor cartridge starts to give you that sharp, nicking feeling that it is time to replace it, simply, slide your razor up your forearm, backwards, with moderate pressure about 10 times. It has worked for me for the last 3 years. (WANT TO LEARN about stopping personal hunger that causes most of our obesity - very effectively, too... google to get my "smoothMet diet" video !!!)
