Rationalism versus Empiricism
Why Rationalism is the way to go. This video consists of two examples for each epistemologic processes. The "someone goes behind the wall" is a classic example when explaining rationalism and empiricism. The cliff example is conjecture based solely on how these two epistemologists act (not think) in the wall example: the empiricist goes after, while the rationalist stays still. This is a joke.

Kant: Marrying Rationalism and Empiricism
"Immanuel Kant (1724-1804) is one of the most influential philosophers in the history of Western philosophy. His contributions to metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, and aesthetics have had a profound impact on almost every philosophical movement that followed him." In epistemology, a priori propositions can be known independent of (prior to) experience, whereas a posteriori propositions can be known only on the basis of experience (after experience). Thus, the distinction between a priori and a posteriori corresponds roughly to the distinction between nonempirical and empirical knowledge. The a priori / a posteriori distinction is applied to ways of knowing, propositions, arguments, and concepts. Because of its dependence upon verification by experience, the foundation for classifying a proposition as a posteriori is more easily grasped. An a priori concept can be acquired independently of experience, which may include, but is not necessarily confined to innate concepts. In logic, a proposition is a statement, couched as a declarative sentence, that affirms or denies the predicate, and that is either true or false. An analytic proposition can variously be described as a proposition whose predicate concept is contained within its subject concept, a proposition that is true by definition, whose truth depends solely on the meaning of its terms, or a proposition that is made true solely by the conventions of language. Analytic propositions, because truth is built in by virtue ...

Rationalism, Pluralism, and Hayek's History of Liberal Thought
The classical liberal economist FA Hayek frequently wrote on the history of liberal ideas, trying both to recover half-forgotten truths and to find the sources of what he viewed as pernicious intellectual errors. He believed that understanding past ideas was important for the correct diagnosis of contemporary ills, since those had so often come from theoretical and philosophical mistakes. He went so far as to propose naming what became the Mont Pelerin Society, the preeminent postwar grouping of free-market economists, the 'Acton-Tocqueville Society,' after two nineteenth century liberal political theorists whose writings on economics were cursory at best. In this talk, Jacob T. Levy describes and assesses Hayek's history of liberal thought, suggesting that he correctly identified key issues in liberal constitutionalism but was too quick to jump from constitutional to economic questions. He wrote histories of rationalism and pluralism in liberal thought, but mistook them for histories of economic planning and free markets. Clarifying this can help us see the often-uneasy relationship between pluralism and markets, and to recognise trade-offs that classical liberal political economy sometimes has to make. Atheist/Rationalist scene from the Tamil movie Kadhal Kadhai
Kadhal Kadhai, directed by Velu Prabakar, deals with subject matter that relates to understanding social attitudes concerning the caste system, women's rights, female nudity and sex in India. The central message is that we should stop treating these subjects as taboo, because they are an essential component of our lives, and only open discussion on these subjects and making such discussions commonplace and normal can help stem the abuse of women's rights in India. Disclaimer: the film is loaded with cheesy and immature male-female interaction, which is also portrayed as the product of a culture that generates unhealthy attitudes regarding interaction between young males and females in India.
NOTHING SUPERNATURAL: RATIONALIST BASAVA PREMANAND DEMONSTRATED MYSTERY OF LEVITATION
A video clip from the movie "Guru Busters", a popular documentary film produced and directed by the British film maker Robert Eagle. The film portrayed Indian Rationalists exhibiting and teaching many apparently "supernatural" stunts such as levitation, flesh piercing, live burials, fire walking etc. This documentary film, about the Indian Rationalists' movement to obliterate superstition, religious hoax and quackery in India, provoked controversy with its vivid depiction of the activities of leading Indian rationalist campaigners. It showed that the alleged miracles of India's god-men are little more than a magician's petty tricks. The film was broadcast on Channel 4, BBC, UK, in the year 1995.

Western Rationalism vs Afrocentricism -Julius Malema ANCYL & Hypocrite Diane Abbott as examples P1
Please read description; Western Rationalism in the modern conception is based on empiricism which developed out of epicurean philosophy's focus on the scientific principle that we don't know everything in totality but use the scientific method to reduce the margin of error by increments vs that was another school of rationalism which developed the idea that by using logic we could eventually gain fuller understanding ie by reason we would eventually know all that was apt for us to know - that was Stoic philosophy the tensions between them have driven western civilization forward to be apt to survive. However Afrocentrism has no used such self-examination. Even though Diane Abbot would not exist if history had taken a different route, nor would any of us, what is however cynical & invasive is the idea that you can attach hyphenated ethnic minority interest to destroy the principles of citizenship which are universal to all citizens; if the true meaning of social Democracy as I see it is to deliver by increments a fair and equal situation between citizens then our loyalty to each other is expressed in the nation & through rationalism. An un-reasoned statement such as "white's love to divide & rule" or Julius Malema shouting & singing "kill the Boer Kill the Farmer" is not rational even from a Afrocentric point of view as the Boer's farming produce keeps many Bantu & Khosa Africans alive. Diane Abbot may not realize this but she does a disservice to Social Democracy & to ...
Dirty Rationalism
There seems to be some evidence to suggest that people who, in some circumstances, act without thinking are judged as more moral than those who do apply rational thought to their choices. Maybe this is based on an understanding of morality which considers it as only valid if it is operating in some state of natural and authentic purity; a version of the 'noble savage' myth. Using the faculties of reason and conscious deliberation is felt as a contamination of this pure morality, even if the outcome is exactly the same.

Muslims, PLEASE STOP obsessively using scientific "rationalism" to interpret the Qur'an!
Assalam 'aleykum warahmatullah wabarakatuh brothers and sisters in Islam. I love you all for the sake of Allah but we truly need to stop making science books the source of our knowledge of the deen. Yes, it is true that the Qur'an has many scientific proofs, but that does not mean that we need to use science in interpreting the Qur'an! Because of this, many people are starting to reject the ahadith and making their own interpretations. The Qur'an was not revealed to ANY of us here present. It was revealed to the Prophet (saw) who was also around his companions. So the best way to interpret the Qur'an is by studying the Sunnah of the Prophet (saw). Some people are just going a bit too far with this really. There're many things scientists have not yet found out which could be later known from the Qur'an, so we do not base our understanding on merely science. Don't get me wrong, I'm not excluding science since it is by the mercy of Allah that we're today discovering many of the wonders of the world, but take it easy. May Allah guide us all.

I will post a book list after the second part to this. I realize this video is pretty long, so I will strive to actually practice my speeches before just posting them for a more streamlined and consistent result. Hope you enjoy! Good learning!

Ethics Western Rationalism Against Infanticidal Totalitarian Suicidal Memes P3
Please read this section carefully. Ethics using Western Rationalism to understand the Natural Right to life & why it matters. Academics in Ethics Dr Francesca Minerva's & Dr. Alberto Giubilini's Paper "After-birth abortion: why should the baby live?" Will immediately strike us for what it linguistically is; a Rhetorical question but by using Ethics & Western Rationalism as a guide; should it be a Rhetorical question? The writers of the Paper claim it was to spark debate well if it is a rational scientific debate that they want I am happy to provide it & dismantle their argument which is based on the concept of human beings as entities of capabilities rather than beings with a natural right to life. I will not claim this is an easy subject to deal with indeed it is easy to be troubled by the implications of such a topic or become emotional about such a topic as infanticide but it is something that society must decide openly in debate not just self-appointed cliques of people deciding because they give themselves a privilege to decide for as all. This is why liberty & equality in balance under rational consensual rational law systems is so important & builds toward the western concept of citizens of nations where states are the servants of citizen national-societies based on inalienable natural & economic rights. This is the principle of the rule of law.

Thunderf00t: Evangelist of Rationalism?
I can't believe it, but there are those who actually seem to be taking Thunderf00t's plan to de-Islamize the Muslim world seriously. Thunderf00t is up there with the people carrying the cardboard placards saying "Islam Will Rule the World". Where does one start? To even suggest such a thing - quite apart from the fact that is is mind-bogglingly arrogant, offensive and (yes) vicious - shows an utter lack of even the most rudimentary understanding of Islam and the Islamic world. And to say that it is a cosmically unrealistic proposal is to be gentle with one's criticism. The other - equally plausible critique - is that it is an incitement to genocide. Thunderf00t is either unbelievably lacking in knowledge in the subject matter upon which he has chosen to pontificate, advocating genocide, or he is just plain nuts. There is no other possible explanation for coming up with an idea to totally beyond the pale.
