Saturday, 15 September 2007: Late night food in Tokyo. Really a test of how quickly I can slap together a finished video using my digital camera's video feature and new editing software. The place I stopped at is called Kamakura Ramen, in the backstreets of Shibuya somewhere around PARCO. I had the #9, which was thin pork broth and thin noodles, with roast pork slices (slightly sweet, oddly) and cabbage. Ramen, by the way, is not really Japanese food, the success of Top Ramen notwithstanding: it's actually considered Chinese food here.

Ramen originated in Sapporo, Japan, and I had the privilege of visiting one of the most famous ramen restaurants in the city: Higuma. Curious to find out more, I toured the Nishiyama noodle factory, where they produce more than 100000 servings of ramen per day. This is how ramen gets made, people.
