Access 2010: Simple Query
www.gcflearnfree.org Queries allow you to search for and compile data from one or more tables in Access. They are one of the best ways of analyzing the data you have in your database. Depending on what you're trying to find out, they can range from very simple to very complex. In this video, we're going to focus on creating a simple query that just uses one table. When creating a query, you'll usually include search criteria, which the query uses to filter the results. Even if you have a huge amount of data in your database, you can use search criteria to pinpoint only the data that you need. If you are interested in learning more about this topic, please visit our site to view the entire tutorial on our website. It includes instructional text, informational graphics, examples, and even interactives for you to practice and apply what you've learned.

Search Quality Meeting: Spelling for Long Queries (Annotated)
As part of our continued effort to be more transparent about how search works, we're publishing video footage from our internal weekly search meeting: "Quality Launch Review." We hold the meeting almost every Thursday to discuss possible algorithmic improvements and make decisions about what to launch. This video is from the meeting that happened on December 1st, 2011, and includes the entire uncut discussion of a real algorithmic improvement to our spell correction system. The language can be technical, so we've included annotations to provide some context for the discussion (and have a little fun!).

Access 2010: Mult-Table Queries, Part 1
www.gcflearnfree.org In a typical database, a single table doesn't show you the complete picture. That's because related data is often spread out through several different tables. With a query, you can pull in data from multiple tables to answer questions. For example, to find customers who have placed orders at our bakery, we would use the Orders table to get the ID for each customer who has placed an order, and we would also need the Customers table to get each customer's name and contact information. We wouldn't be able to do this by looking at one of the tables by itself, but we can use a query to look at both tables at the same time. If you are interested in learning more about this topic, please visit our site to view the entire tutorial on our website. It includes instructional text, informational graphics, examples, and even interactives for you to practice and apply what you've learned.
