It was to be the only concert by Queen that was ever shot on film. Always a great live band, with arguably the greatest frontman of all time in Freddie Mercury, they excelled themselves with the cameras rolling. The picture has been digitally restored from the original film and the sound has been newly mixed and mastered for DTS Surround Sound and PCM Stereo from the original multitrack tapes. Following their record-breaking South American tour, the Montreal shows on 24 and 25 November 1981 were to be the only concerts by Queen ever shot on film - indeed they were the first group to shoot an entire show in full cinema format 35mm. These releases offer the best ever sound and picture quality on a Queen concert release. Always a great live band, with two years non-stop touring behind them and Freddie Mercury in front of them, Queen excelled themselves with the cameras rolling. "Innuendo" was the last album released by Queen before the death of Freddie Mercury. Three of the songs on the album, "The Show Must Go On", "Don't Try So Hard" and "Bijou" were sung by Queen's charismatic vocalist in a terrifying manner, causing the feelings of delight and admiration on one hand, and in-depth pain, sorrow and helplessness on the other in the hearts of people who loved Queen as much as they did love Freddie. The singing part in this song is relatively small, yet it always sends (and always will send...) shivers down my spine when I hear this poignant "You... and me, we are destined - you'll agree..." "Bijou" is a song that will always make you feel how great this band was. Copyright 1987 Geffen Taken From Wikipedia "Rocket Queen" is the last song on Appetite for Destruction, the debut album from hard rock band Guns N' Roses. I wrote this song for this girl who was gonna have a band and she was gonna call it Rocket Queen. She kinda kept me alive for a while. The last part of the song is my message to this person, or anybody else who can get something out of it. It's like there's hope and a friendship note at the end of the song. For that song there was also something I tried to work out with various people—a recorded sex act. It was somewhat spontaneous but premeditated; something I wanted to put on the record. —Axl Rose An Interview With The Gunners, Hit Parader - March 1988 A credit in the booklet for Appetite for Destruction reads "Barbi (Rocket Queen) Von Grief", implying that she was "this girl" Rose mentions in the quote. Slash states that he and Duff McKagan wrote the main riff to "Rocket Queen" when they first got together, before either of them had joined Hollywood Rose or LA Guns. It has also been said that Rose brought a woman, Adriana Smith, to the studio for recording.
