Queen Victoria & Prince Albert - An Ordinary Girl and Boy
Queen Victoria ascended the English Imperial Throne at the tender age of 18, and began a reign that would outlive her and would never be forgotten. But only two years later at the age of twenty she did something that both for a Queen and for the time she lived in was unheard of, yet quite common among common people today: She married the man she loved; Prince Albert. For forty years they would be the happiest and most loving couple the world had ever seen. This is a video set to Ordinary Day by Vanessa Carlton is a tribute to their love.
Queen Victoria & Prince Albert [This One - Utada]
Queen Victoria I & Prince Albert Alexandrina Victoria (Queen Victoria I of the United Kingdoms) was born on May 24, 1819 in Kensington Palace to Prince Edward, Duke of Kent and Strathearn, and Princess Victoire of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld. Francis Albert Augustus Charles Emmanuel (Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha) was born on August 26, 1819 to Ernest of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha and Princess Louise of Saxe-Coburg-Altenburg. The second meeting between Prince Albert and Queen Vicotira in October 1839, Vicotria fell head over heels in love with Albert. "dear Albert He is so sensible, so kind, and so good, and so amiable too. He has besides, the most pleasing and delightful exterior and appearance you can possibly see." Prince Albert was Victoria's first cousin. As a monarch, Victoria had to propose to him and she did on October 15, 1839. And on February 10, 1840, they were married at Chapel Royal, St. Jame Palace, London. England. Their marriage proved to be very happy. Both psychologically and physically. Their marriage resulted in 9 children ; Victoria, Albert (Edward VII), Alice, Alfred, Helena, Louise, Arthur, Leopold, and Beatrice. Albert became not only the Queen's companion, but an important political advisor. Prince Albert was a man of progressive and liberal ideas. He led University reforms, he fought for the Improvement of the Condition of the Labouring Class, etc. His most rememberable achievement is The Great Exhibition of 1851 housed in the Crystal House in Hyde Park ...

Young Queen Victoria Waltzes with Prince Albert (3 of 3).mov
In this final excerpt from "The Young Victoria," the queen, played beautifully by Emily Blunt, picks her handsome suitor Belgium Prince Albert as her first waltz partner at her Coronation Ball to what probably is a Johann Strauss the Elder waltz. This to me is the most perfect waltz scene in a movie with little doubt that here the queen falls in love with her prince. Not long after, they marry and have nine children, suggesting at least Victoria was not so prime and rigid as portrayed in her later years. Albert died at age 42. Available as DVD and streaming on Netflix.
Victoria and Albert - The Young Victoria
PLEASE READ FIRST!!!!! Queen Victoria and Prince Albert; possibly one of the greatest love stories ever told, EVER! Hehe. And the great thing is, is that it actually happened. It's apart of history. :) Now, I love anything to do with the Royal's, Period drama, and especially the Victorian era in general just because she was such an amazing leader - and so I was UH - MAZED when I found out about the movie 'The Young Victoria' which chronicles the young monarch's ascension to the throne, and her beautiful romance with the dashing Prince Albert (more on him later. *wink* lol). I urge ALL OF YOU to see this movie guys, especially if you're not familiar with Queen Victoria and the story of herself and Albert. It's absolutley amazing. Trust me, it's really touching and even if you're not a period drama fan, a romantacist, or a typical girl, I promise you, you'll still love it! :) Emily Blunt is amazing in this movie, as are the rest of the cast, especially the lovely Mr. Rupert Friend, who plays Prince Albert. His portrayal of the Prince is completley spot on! He deserves an Oscar! lol. I'm sure that the days where he is most remembered, for being the guy on Keira Knightley's arm, or his bit parts in 'Pride and Prejudice' and 'The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas.' are over! - He's amazing in this film, plus....Rupert = LUSH! Haha. He definitley deserves every ounce of fame and glory for this! ... Now, this video is basically about the relationship between Victoria and Albert, and it ...
The Man Who Can't Be Moved [Prince Albert]
Song: The Man Who Can't Be Moved Artist: The Script Standard disclaimer applies. Video notes: When I first heard this song, I pictured Prince Albert, who was Queen Victoria's husband, friend, and adviser. He definitely is the man who can't be moved, because although he was never really given any power as king, he influenced everything Queen Victoria did. When he died young, she laid out his clothes every single morning for the rest of her life. You should Google him :)
Queen Victoria and Prince Albert's love for each other
Queen Victoria first set her eyes on Prince Albert at Kensington Palace. She eventually married the man whom she loved dearly. In this very palace she was born and spent her childhood years, she also lived through extraordinary moments and opened the Palace to the public for the first time in 1899. Newly refurbished Kensington Palace brings to you "a truly intimate account of her extraordinary life". This video shows how deeply Queen Victoria and Prince Albert were in love with each other. Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha/Prince Consort Albert of Great Britain and Ireland
Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (Francis Albert Augustus Charles Emmanuel; 26 August 1819 -- 14 December 1861) was the husband of Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. He was born in the Saxon duchy of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld to a family connected to many of Europe's ruling monarchs. At the age of 20 he married his first cousin, Queen Victoria, with whom he had nine children. At first, Albert felt constrained by his position as consort, which did not confer any power or duties upon him. Over time he adopted many public causes, such as educational reform and the abolition of slavery, and took on the responsibilities of running the Queen's household, estates and office. He was heavily involved with the organisation of the Great Exhibition of 1851. Albert aided in the development of Britain's constitutional monarchy by persuading his wife to show less partisanship in her dealings with Parliament—although he actively disagreed with the interventionist foreign policy pursued during Lord Palmerston's tenure as Foreign Secretary. He died at the early age of 42, plunging the Queen into a deep mourning which lasted for the rest of her life. Upon Queen Victoria's death in 1901, their son, Edward VII, succeeded as the first monarch of the House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, named after the ducal house to which Albert belonged.
Queen Elizabeth ii
Elizabeth was the first child of Prince Albert, Duke of York (later King George VI), and his wife, Elizabeth. Her father was the second son of King George V and Queen Mary, and her mother was the youngest daughter of Scottish aristocrat Claude Bowes-Lyon, 14th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne. She was born by Caesarean section at 2.40 am (GMT) on 21 April 1926 at her maternal grandfather's London house: 17 Bruton Street, Mayfair.[1] The Anglican Archbishop of York, Cosmo Lang, baptised her in the private chapel of Buckingham Palace on 29 May.[2][note 2] She was named Elizabeth after her mother, Alexandra after George V's mother, who had died six months earlier, and Mary after her paternal grandmother.[3] Her close family called her "Lilibet".[4] George V cherished his granddaughter, and during his serious illness in 1929 her regular visits were credited in the popular press and by later biographers with raising his spirits and aiding his recovery.[5] Elizabeth's only sibling was Princess Margaret, born in 1930. The two princesses were educated at home under the supervision of their mother and their governess, Marion Crawford, who was casually known as "Crawfie".[6] Lessons concentrated on history, language, literature and music.[7] To the dismay of the royal family,[8] in 1950 Crawford published a biography of Elizabeth and Margaret's childhood years entitled The Little Princesses. The book describes Elizabeth's love of horses and dogs, her orderliness, and her attitude ...
Prince Albert Victor, Duke of Clarence and Avondale
Prince Albert Victor, Duke of Clarence and Avondale (Albert Victor Christian Edward; 8 January 1864 -- 14 January 1892) was a member of the British Royal Family. He was the eldest son of Albert Edward, Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII) and Alexandra, Princess of Wales (later Queen Alexandra), and the grandson of the reigning monarch, Queen Victoria. From the time of his birth, he was second in the line of succession to the throne, but he did not become king because he died before his father and his grandmother, the Queen. Albert Victor was known to his family as "Eddy" and many later biographers have referred to him by this pet name. When young, he travelled the world extensively as a naval cadet. As an adult he joined the army, but did not undertake any active military duties. After two unsuccessful courtships, he was engaged to be married to Mary of Teck in late 1891. Just a few weeks later, he died in an influenza pandemic. Mary later married his younger brother, George, who became King George V in 1910. Albert Victor's intellect, sexuality and sanity have been the subject of much speculation. Rumours linked him with the Cleveland Street scandal, which involved a homosexual brothel, though there is no firm evidence that he ever went there or was even homosexual. Some authors have argued that he was the serial killer known as Jack the Ripper. Contemporary documents indicate that Albert Victor could not have been in London at the time of the murders, however, and ...

Wedding of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth
Silent video footage of the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of York (later King George VI and Queen Elizabeth) (1923). Prince Albert initially proposed to Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon in 1921, but she turned him down, due to misgivings about royal life. When he declared he would marry no other, his mother, Queen Mary, visited Glamis to see for herself the girl who had stolen her son's heart. She became convinced that Elizabeth was "the one girl who could make Bertie happy", but nevertheless refused to interfere. After the third proposal Elizabeth finally agreed to marry Albert: their engagement was announced in January 1923. The Duke and Duchess of York had two children, Elizabeth (who would succeed her father as Elizabeth II), born 21 April 1926 and Margaret, born 21 August 1930. Public domain.

Princess Victoria Mary of Teck/Queen Mary of the United Kingdom
Mary of Teck (Victoria Mary Augusta Louise Olga Pauline Claudine Agnes; 26 May 1867 -- 24 March 1953) was the queen consort of the United Kingdom and the British Dominions, and Empress of India, as the wife of King-Emperor George V. By birth, she was a princess of Teck, in the Kingdom of Württemberg, with the style Serene Highness. To her family, she was informally known as May, after her birth month. Her father, who was of German extraction, married into the British Royal Family, and "May" was born and brought up in the United Kingdom. At the age of 24 she was betrothed to Prince Albert Victor, Duke of Clarence and Avondale, the heir to the British throne, but six weeks after the announcement of the engagement he unexpectedly died of pneumonia. The following year she became engaged to the new heir, Albert Victor's brother, George. Before her husband's accession, she was successively Duchess of York, Duchess of Cornwall and Princess of Wales. As his queen consort from 1910, she supported her husband through World War I, his ill-health, and major political changes arising from the aftermath of the war and the rise of socialism and nationalism. After George's death in 1936, her eldest son Edward became King-Emperor, but to her dismay he abdicated the same year in order to marry twice-divorced American socialite Mrs. Wallis Simpson. She supported her second son, Albert, who succeeded to the throne as George VI, until his death in 1952. She died the following year, at the ...

Victoria and Albert Christmas scene
Please note I do not own this video! A brilliant portrayal of the relationship between Prince Albert and Queen Victoria. From 2001, it begins in 1837, the year of King William IV's death and 18-year-old Victoria's ascension to the throne, the series charts the tumultuous period in 19th Century England where Victoria comes to terms with the enormous duties that lay ahead of her, while also falling deeply in love with her beloved Albert of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha.
Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom
Queen Victoria (Alexandrina Victoria; 24 May 1819 -- 22 January 1901) was the sovereign of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland from 20 June 1837 until her death. From 1 May 1876, she was the first Empress of India of the British Raj. Victoria was the daughter of Prince Edward, Duke of Kent and Strathearn, the fourth son of King George III. Both the Duke of Kent and the King died in 1820, and Victoria was raised under close supervision by her German-born mother Princess Victoria of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld. She inherited the throne at the age of 18 after her father's three elder brothers died without surviving legitimate issue. She ascended the throne when the United Kingdom was already an established constitutional monarchy, in which the Sovereign held relatively few direct political powers. Privately, she attempted to influence government policy and ministerial appointments. Publicly, she became the iconic symbol of the nation and empire, and was identified with strict standards of personal morality. Victoria married her first cousin, Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha in 1840. Their 9 children and 26 of their 42 grandchildren married into royal and noble families across the continent, tying them together and earning her the nickname "the grandmother of Europe". After Albert's death in 1861, Victoria plunged into deep mourning and avoided public appearances. As a result of her seclusion, republicanism temporarily gained strength, but in the later half of her ...
