Puget Sound Ferry - Washington State - Beautiful!!!
Beautiful scenery in every direction on the Keystone Ferry to Port Townsend, not every day is rainy in the Pacific Northwest, as a matter of fact this was during a heatwave with temperatures in Seattle reaching into the 90's F. a loop of the Olympic Peninsula has to include at least one ferry crossing to experience the Pacific, and it is very affordable. The crossing here with a car and 2 people was less than $15 dollars. On some days you might even catch a glimpse of some killer whales and if it is raining then take it in stride, everything has its beauty. Kalakala Historic Puget Sound Ferry
From: www.historylink.org The ferry Kalakala was launched from the Lake Washington Shipyards, in Kirkland, on July 2, 1935. Between 1935 and 1967, the streamlined ferry plied the waters of Puget Sound, carrying commuting workers between Seattle and the naval shipyard in Bremerton. Auctioned off in 1967, the Kalakala spent the next 31 years in Alaska, serving as a fish processor. The vessel returned to Seattle on November 6, 1998. After failed attempts to raise sufficient funds to restore her, she was auctioned off, moved to Neah Bay, removed from Neah Bay, and in September 2004 moved to Tacoma.

Coho Fishing On Puget Sound
Went fishing with Paul this monring and had a great time. We headed out this morning and had nice running water. Not to windy and not to wavy. We had two fish in the boat within 50 minutes of getting our gear in the water. The tally was a 8lb hen, a 10lb buck, and a nice 11lb hen that came just after noon. The wind did pick up but being patient fisherman we stuck it out and were rewarded with that 11lb'er. We were trolling at about 2.5 and running gear anywhere from 55 to 75 feet down on the cables. We both used green flashers and picked up one fish on the green spatterback hoochie and two on the Ace Hi-Fly with UV. The water was a bit stained so we didn't feel the need to run them real deep. Lots of bait and bird activity. Overall, a great day. Thanks again Paul. Music changed due to copywright laws.

Puget Sound lingcod caught off Alki 35.5" ugly but vbery tasty. Caught with G Loomis HSR1021C IMX. My friend nets his first fish its a ling and its a big one for this area. The scale broke at 27lbs.

This steam double header with SP #4449 and UP #844 from Tacoma to Everett and back was my best steam excursion ever! I would like to thank the Barriger Library, Union Pacific Railroad, BNSF Railway, Friends of the 4449, Oregon Rail Heritage Foundation, the Washington State Historical Society, and Conductor Reed Jackson for making this trip possible. A coach seat was $299, and Dome $399. Double headed steam on a Class I mainline was truly priceless! Being that this was the same day as my 30th birthday made the trip even more memorable.
