Johnny Depp and the 'Public Enemies' trailer Ever since I started putting together this summer movie sneak peek in January, "Public Enemies" was the one trailer I really wanted to see. Johnny Depp as bank-robbing legend John Dillinger. Outstanding. Dillinger was a charismatic bad guy, endearing to the public even though he was essentially stealing their money and shooting up their neighborhoods. Is there a more perfect actor to play the role than Depp? He can pretty much take any character and make the audience like him. Depp = Dillinger is a great equation, even though there's really no math to be done there. It even helps you look past the fact that Depp's antagonist in the movie is played by Christian Bale. The Universal Studios movie also stars Academy Award winner Marion Cotillard ("La Vie En Rose"), and it hits theaters July 1. www.blacktree.tv

Superman/Batman: Public Enemies is an upcoming original direct-to-video animated film adaptation of the opening story arc to Superman/Batman, which focuses on Superman and Batman teaming up to prevent a meteoroid from striking Earth and take down Lex Luthor. The film is the sixth in the line of the DC Universe Original Animated Movies line released by Warner Premiere and Warner Bros. Animation. Public Enemies - Johnny Depp as John Dillinger

No one could stop John Dillinger and his gang. No jail could hold him. His charm and audacious jailbreaks endeared him to almost everyone -- from his girlfriend Billie Frechette to an American public who had no sympathy for the banks that had plunged the country into the Depression. But while the adventures of Dillinger' gang -- later including Baby Face Nelson and Alvin Karpis -- thrilled many, J. Edgar Hoover made Dillinger America's first Public Enemy Number One and sent in Melvin Purvis, the dashing "Clark Gable of the FBI." However, Dillinger and his gang outwitted and outgunned Purvis' men in wild chases and shootouts. Only after importing a crew of Western ex-lawmen (newly baptized as agents) and orchestrating epic betrayals -- from the infamous "Lady in Red" to the Chicago crime boss Frank Nitti -- were Purvis, the FBI and their new crew of gunfighters able to close in on Dillinger.
