Yunnan province is the most biodiverse and beautiful province in China. It has half of all plant and animal species found in China and 52 of the remaining 56 ethnic minorities in the country. In this clip Manchán meet the O-Er-Do-Ju family in Lugu Lake, North West of Lijiang in Yunnan. He is accompanied by Miss Lu, a foreign affairs official. The father of the family sits at his mother's fireside and explains the Mosu system of family, in which the woman has complete control. He then brings up to meet his father who was a Buddhist monk until the monastary was shut down under Mao. He is now free to practise again. Zhang Jia Jie - Real Pandora
Zhang Jia Jie, in Hunan province, is an amazing canyon perhaps even more stunning than the one in Enshi. It's recently gained a lot of attention as the site that inspired the floating mountains of Pandora, the alien world in the movie Avatar. One formation in particular, seen at 2:25, has since been renamed the "Avatar Hallelujah Mountain," formerly the "Heaven and Earth Pillar." The area is getting more popular but it is still an amazing site to see, and there is much more than just the mountains to marvel at. 1000+ meters below, there are rivers and waterfalls to hike alongside, which I didn't have time to visit. We traveled from Baguio City around 8:00 in the evening of May 16, 2012 and arrived at the municipality of Roxas by 6:30am in the next morning, almost 11hours travel and another 3hours travel through truck and tricycle to the mountainous terrain of Isabela. In this place we've conducted evangelism, DVPS Daily Vacation Bible School, feeding program and gift giving.
