Independiente Records formed in 1997.The label is distributed by Sony Music Entertainment for Travis & Vital PIAS for their other artists in the UK and by Epic Records in the US (Travis only).Groups such as Embrace, White Rose Movement, David Ford, Sun House, The Shortwave Set, Gomez, Firstborn and Howling Bells are currently on the label. The label has seen a considerable amount of success in the late 90's early 00's with Travis's album "The Man Who" being cited as the 25th biggest selling album in the UK, and their follow up "The Invisible Band" in 2001, and in 2004 with Embrace's comeback album "Out Of Nothing".
