February 10, 2010: A crank call into CNN headquarters made it through LIVE on the air during a severe weather alert. At the time, the northeast region of the United States was being pounded by a nor'easter which dropped over a foot of snow in most places. The prankster identified himself as Gene Lasker, claiming to be from the New Jersey Emergency Management and that they are reporting the closing of Newark International airport as conditions worsen. He suggested that viewers stay home to watch Howard Stern on American Idol tonight. He also called the reporter a dumbass for not realizing that this was obviously a crank call.

Fat Albert The Prankster part 1/2
A staple on CBS-TV from 1972 to 1984, "Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids" was one of the best cartoons aired during the golden age of Saturday morning TV. Each week, the gang learned a lesson and the episode ended with them singing a song about what they learned. While many shows from the late-60's / early-70's era featured music segments (The Archies, The Globetrotter, Josie & The Pussycats, etc.), the songs on Fat Albert were far more educational than the bubblegum pop tunes of the earlier shows. And like the earlier shows, the Fat Albert show *did* have a soundtrack LP released for it (Paramount PAS-6053). But, this LP now seems to be *extremely* rare. It's so uncommon that many Saturday morning cartoon music fans are totally unaware of its existence. The video is from the original Filmation show. About the tokoloshe Tokoloshe or Tikoloshe. From the Xhosa word uthikoloshe. The tokoloshe is a short, hairy, dwarf-like creature from Bantu folklore. It is a mischievous and evil spirit that can become invisible by swallowing a pebble. Tokoloshes are called upon by malevolent people to cause trouble for others. At it's least harmful a tokoloshe can be used to scare children, but it's power extends to causing illness and even death upon the victim. The way to get rid of him is to call in the n'anga or witch-doctor who has the power to banish him from the area. It seems incredible to most of us that there could be any truth in the legend of the tokoloshe or the power of the witch-doctor. But they do exist in some parts of Africa where superstition and legend is very much alive and well. How many of us won't walk under a ladder or touch wood in case something bad happens? Is that any less ridiculous? We should never underestimate the power of the mind.
