Ginger Sling EPK - Power Pop
Ginger has been playing in bands and writing songs since her freshman year in High School. So when Spring rolled around in 2004 Ginger decided it was time to start her own band and called it Ginger Sling. Before Ginger Sling began, Ginger was in a band called the Halo Friendlies. The Friendlies accomplished many things that bands only dream of. They toured the United States many times over on the Vans Warped Tour and toured with such bands as Good Charlotte and Funeral for a Friend. With the Halos, Ginger has toured the UK five times and has done two USO tours after 9/11 playing shows in Bosnia, Kosovo and Germany. The Halo Friendlies released an album for EMI's Tooth and Nail Records and recorded a song for the Freaky Friday Soundtrack in 2003. They also received a gold record for the sale of over 500000 copies of the Soundtrack. From 2001-2002 Ginger was also the bass player for the band Lo Ball where she had the opportunity to work with John Porter (The Smiths, Morrissey) and Michael Beinhorn (Hole, Soundgarden). She has also performed live with producer Linda Perry and fellow solo artist Sierra Swan. Throughout 2004-2006, Ginger has recorded her own music and released a 5 song EP called "The Room" and has released a group of demos called the "Laguna Beach Demos". Her total download sales exceed the 12000 mark and continue to sell through iTunes and most every digital music store online. Here it is boys & girls. I've had this locked in a shoebox since 1986. The first video clip for the single "At First Sight - Violets Are Blue". The story behind this is simply Dom didn't like it as he thought it made him look older than the others (he was) and decided to shelve it. They went on to redo another clip with a super8 camera which is cool but not as cool as this clip. Enjoy this piece of Western Australian music history. www.zerohourrecords.com.au

The first was for the "What's On" programme in 1979, the second from the Deeply Vale documentary broadcast in 2004 (footage filmed in 1979) with an additional clip from a live performance in 1990 in our hometown of Swinton. The soundtrack is "Images of You" taken from the Detour CD 'Coming ... ready or not!' and 'The kids just wanna dance'(A cover of OUR 1979 single) by USA band Manda and the Marbles released in 2005.

Can the old guys still do it, well judge for yourself. Take a hot sweaty club in downtown Madrid, (The Wurlitzer Ballroom 15th Oct 2010), and put Fast Cars in powering through the old favourites like they are still teenagers, songs such as; I won't be coming home, looking for something and of course, The kids just wanna dance! This is an authentic show that takes you back to the late 1970's if you close your eyes you could imagine being in a British local all those years ago. Unfortunately there were a few problems with the camera but the relentless power and melody of the music shines through; these Fast Cars won't stop until they run out of fuel!!

Raspberries - "I Wanna Be With You" (1972)
Raspberries are a power pop/pop rock band from Cleveland, Ohio in the United States. They had a run of success in the early 1970s music scene with their crisp pop sound, which Allmusic later described as featuring "exquisitely crafted melodies and achingly gorgeous harmonies." The members were known for their clean-cut public image, with short-hair and matching suits, which brought them teenybopper attention as well as scorn from some mainstream media outlets as 'uncool'. The group drew influence from the British Invasion era—especially The Beatles, The Who, The Hollies, and The Small Faces—and its mod sensibility. In both the US and the UK, the Raspberries helped pioneer the power pop music style that took off after the group disbanded. They also have a following among professional musicians such as Jack Bruce and Ringo Starr. The group's original lineup consisted of Eric Carmen (vocalist/guitarist/bassist), Wally Bryson (guitarist), Jim Bonfanti (drummer), and Dave Smalley (guitarist/bassist).
