It has not rained in days. The city let this pothole get worse and worse without repairing it. On April 27th, 2012, at around 10pm, I hit it going roughly 30mph. The pothole bent my rim and also damaged the tire. Total Cost to repair is over $1200. I personally feel the city should at least help me cover part of the repair costs from this. If a motorcycle was to hit the pothole, he may have died or become critically injured.

De La Soul - Potholes In My Lawn
De La Soul is an American hip hop trio formed in 1987 on Long Island, New York.The band is best known for their eclectic sampling, quirky lyrics, and their contributions to the evolution of the jazz rap and alternative hip hop subgenres. The members are Kelvin Mercer (Posdnuos, Mercenary, Plug Wonder Why, Plug One), David Jude Jolicoeur (Trugoy the Dove, Dave, Plug Two) and Vincent Mason (PA Pasemaster Mase, Maseo, Plug Three). The three formed the group in high school and caught the attention of producer Prince Paul with a demo tape of the song "Plug Tunin'". Prince Paul was also sometimes referred to as Plug Four. The Plug names are alleged to come from the numbers that each bandmate's microphone was labeled on the soundboard. Where others saw a pothole, he saw an opportunity to make a difference. When not ferrying passengers, he repaired potholes by filling them with gravel. The City of Boston partnered with InnoCentive on a Challenge to predict pothole locations using data collected from a smartphone application called Street Bump. The solution is expected to help the City respond to potholes more quickly than ever before, resulting in improved service to citizens, reduced environmental impact of city repair crews scouting for potholes, and greater engagement from civic-minded constituents. DIY: How to fix a pothole without spending too much $$$
We own a small business and had some potholes that needed to be repaired. Slurry coating the entire parking lot would be well over a few thousand, and we didn't really have the means or the time to hire someone to do it. We went to our local Lowes home improvement store and picked up a few bags of QPR, or Quality Pavement Repair. It's a permanent pavement repair system and it's a cold application, no heavy machinery necessary. Just pour, tamp (compress) into the ground, and walk away. I ran into a QPR representative named Mike Lawrence while at Lowes and he was very knowledgeable and helpful. He gave me a few tips and also asked for my opinion on the product. I told him I was very glad to have found out about QPR. Some smaller home improvement stores sell a similar product, but a 35 lb. bag there goes for 20$, when QPR is a 50 lb. bag and goes for 13$. The Tamper tool is around 17$, and although it's very light weight, it's very durable and sturdy. It is made of composite or aluminum. The ones I've seen online are upwards of $30 and wood (imagine getting a splinter!). We bought some old dust covered bags that were sitting there for ages, but once out of the bag, the product just melted into the holes. Very malleable and easy to work with. My dad just turned 70 and he's doin' all the work! QPR was easy to use and saved us tons of dough$, I highly recommend this to anybody who owns a business or home. Heck, if you have a sweet ride with low profile tires and keep bending ...

Canadas Worst Pothole
A large sinkhole forms in front of Sobeys head office in Stellarton. The land is the site of the old Allan Shaft 1904~1951 and the Foord Pit 1866~1880 coal mines. The sinkhole was probably the result of a cave in in the old workings in the Foord seam which is approximately 45 feet thick. The water in the hole is the result of a broken sewer line. see part two below. www.youtube.com
