Cafe owners are already rebelling through by hiring attorneys and downright ignoring the new law. What's the point of visiting Amsterdam if you can't enjoy a good high? At least the brothels are still alive and thriving.

Why is April 20th so important to pot smokers? The reasons are a bit cloudy. Rumors include everything from the number 420 being a police radio code to the number of active chemicals in a marijuana plant. But the real origin of the number's affiliation with cannabis dates back to the 1970s, according to the Huffington Post. A group of friends from San Rafael High School in California heard about a large crop of pot plants nearby and planned go harvest. The meeting time to start their adventure? 4:20 pm The friends reportedly never found the crop--maybe because they got stoned on the way--but they did start a new code name for smoking up. Today, many will be burning one down despite the fact that in most places using marijuana is illegal. Call it our edgiest holiday, even if the goal maybe to, well, take the edge off.

Pot Smoking Better Than Cigarette Smoking: Study
Pot smokers: you may rejoice! And maybe ask your cigarette-smoking friends to consider a lifestyle change. Smoking marijuana does less damage to the lungs than cigarette smoking, according to a collaborative study by the University of Alabama Birmingham and UC San Fransisco. Published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, the study distills data collected from over 5000 people aged 18-30 over a 20 year period. After studying marijuana and cigarette usage amongst other vital factors, researchers have determined that cigarette usage degrades both the FEV, the amount of air the lungs can hold and FVC, the amount of air a person blows out. Contrarily occasional pot smoking increased lung capacity according to the research, though heavy pot smoking had similar effects as tobacco smoking. The authors became interested in the study as more Americans are using medical marijuana. The control group likely became interested in the study because of the possibility of free weed.

BC's Top Doctor Calling for Pot Legalization

BC's Chief Medical Health Officer and two of his colleagues in other provinces added their voices to a growing list of people calling for marijuana to be decriminalized. In a report, Dr. Perry Kendall says it is time for the Federal Government to start asking questions, such as how we could better restrict access to pot, is there a way of regulating and taxing it so the benefits come back to the Government, and society instead of into the hands of criminals. The idea of this song is not marijuana. Anyone could figure that out if they looked even an inch past the title. This song is about hypocrisy, specifically in Kangaroo Courts. Also the government and lawmakers in general. Kangaroo Courts are just referred to in the song specifically. Kangaroo Courts were much more popular in older times, but we still have them today. It's a court case in which the accused is considered guilty before he really gets a fair trial. Now, who is the government and the court system to say that person is guilty of a crime while they are committing a crime themselves (Who are you to wave your finger)? Hypocrites. Kangaroo courts in the older days typically dealt with pot dealers and smokers. All the references to eyes ("Eyehole deep in muddy waters", "Got lemon juice up in your eye", "Weeping shades of indigo") all refer to the hypocrite being blinded by something or another and not being able to see the obvious: he's a "fuckin' hypocrite". Lemon juice makes you shut your eyes Indigo is known to represent intuition and spiritual knowledge. The hypocrite is weeping away their intuition and knowledge, until they don't even realize their own hypocrisy. "When you pissed all over my black kettle, you must've been high" You're the pot calling the kettle black and putting him down for it, or "pissing" on him. And it's obviously not with straight thinking or intuition that you did this. The lyrics here could either mean literally high, or maybe "you must ...

The results vary based on relative humidity in your area. The concept works best in hot desert area with low RH. The pots do not work in humidity above about 75%. This makes them ineffective in the summertime in many regions. The sand should be damp to wet, NOT DRENCHED. The outer pot MUST be unglazed. So this story comes out of the "Ignorance Undenied" folder. A cop takes marijuana from evidence and makes brownies with his wife. Then in his paranoia that he is dying, he calls 911. Hilarity ensues. As far as I can find he was not charged, and stepped down from the force as a result of this incident.

Over the past couple of years, the medical marijuana industry in Los Angeles has exploded. Estimates vary, but there may be as many as 800 dispensaries currently open for business in the city of angels. An ordinance recently passed by the LA city council, however, is about to change all that. The new ordinance will force hundreds of dispensaries to close and all but a few to relocate. The goal was to bring clarity to the medical marijuana industry, but the only thing that's clear is that the transition process will be difficult. Especially now that the DEA has begun raiding dispensaries again, despite the promises made by the Obama administration. While federal, state and local governments struggle to make sense of medical marijuana laws, an increasing number of Californians support a completely different approach: marijuana legalization. Nothing more than a pipe dream? Maybe. But consider this: 56 percent of Californians currently support pot legalization, the same proportion of Californians who voted for the Compassionate Use Act, which legalized medical marijuana, back in 1996. The Pot by Tool
The Pot is one of the few 4/4 Tool songs, but is far from straightforward as they've done their best to de-emphasize the tendencies we all have in 4/4. The middle of the song is one of my favorites to listen to as it is very effective in creating a mysterious vibe. Danny's fill and set-up to the fill going into the 1st china section is my favorite of any Tool song. I love the musicality of it!! It iscritical that every drummer develop their own unique style and interpretation. Therefore, I do not memorize any song exactly. I have spent 30 years playing drums and have developed my own style, which I prefer. I keep my playing within the framework of the song and will play a part exact if that part is either iconic (like Phil Collins In The Air Tonight) or critical to the success of the song.
