Ellen and Portia had their wedding ceremony here in 2008. While the compound could have held thousands, their guestlist was only 19 people. The main house measures nine-thousand- two hundred-square feet. There are also two guest houses and an additional three-bedroom home. Portia's celebrity was solidified when she joined the cast of a popular television show called "Ally McBeal". A show that was no stranger to 'eating disorders' suspicion due to the overly slender build of its main character "Ally McBeal" (Calista Flockheart). Portia's war with eating disorders lasted through her work on "Ally McBeal" and beyond as she swung from one spectrum (starving, over-exercising, and restricting) to the other (binge eating and purging). She is very honest about her toxic behaviours and her tormented thoughts that drove her weight from a healthy 130 pounds, all the way down to 82 pounds and back up to 168 pounds. Her struggle back to health was a long and difficult journey, and one she shares in the hope of helping other women who are still struggling with their own eating disorders to find hope, help and understanding. I was very touched by Portia's honesty in "Unbearable Lightness" as I am sure it was very difficult to have lived through these toxic years of her life, and even more difficult to confess them openly to the world.
