Emily and the team in Haiti saw a parade in the heart of Port au Prince. This was the site of countless tents in a tent city for the homeless and displaced. Last time Emily was there, it was full. Now, there is no longer a need for all of those tents =)

Descend over the Dominican Republic through a canyon connecting to Haiti. There are 2 Lakes in this canyon. The first you see is in the Dominican Republic, called "Enriquillo". It has an National Park Island in it. Its the Parque Nacional Isla Cabritos. Shortly thereafter you can see Lake Etang Saumatre, This is then in Haiti. The border runs North South, or in this video from Left to Right. Here after we set up a visual pattern and landing fron the Baie de Port au Prince side. Note: I was flying the last part visually but backing it up with the ILS. The final approach was intercepted under the glideslope thus the warning. Hope you enjoy it, and dont forget to comment !

Port-au-Prince: Haiti lorry crash kills at least 27 people
At least 20 people have died in Haiti after a large lorry overturned on a highway south of the capital, Port-au-Prince, officials said. Some 40 others have been hospitalised with injuries, doctors said. A local radio station said the nearby town of Petit-Grove was "overwhelmed" and underequipped to deal with them. Road accidents are common in Haiti, where traffic regulations are rarely enforced and vehicles are often overloaded. One witness told the AFP news agency that the road was known for being dangerous. At least four people were killed in an accident in the same area last week. The lorry, which was carrying retail traders, many of them women, was said to have lost its balance as it climbed a steep incline, according to a local judge who witnessed the incident. Joel Charles, hospital director in the town of Petit-Goave put the death toll at 27 and said 17 of the victims were found dead at the scene. "Some of the injuries are critical, a lot of head trauma and broken bones. We need surgeons, other medical specialists and ambulances," Mr Charles said. "The victims need to be transported to hospitals in Port-au-Prince."

This is a corridor we would often use to get to Chan Mas, restaurants, grocery, work (Fonkoze). I'm telling you if you have not been to Haiti, it's amazing, the people are the best.

Puerto Príncipe1 (en francés Port-au-Prince; en criollo Pòtoprens) es la capital de Haití. Se encuentra en la bahía del golfo de La Gonave, y cuenta con una población de 704.776 habitantes (2003). El 12 de enero de 2010 un terremoto de 7.0 grados en la escala de Richter devastó gran parte de esta ciudad. Se puede hablar de más de 200.000 muertos. Esta es la peor catástrofe de la historia en el Caribe americano. Puerto Príncipe tiene un clima tropical todo el año. La temperatura a lo largo de la costa es en promedio de 26,7° y se vuelve más fresca en las montañas. La estación de las lluvias tiene lugar de abril a junio y de octubre a noviembre. Actualmente la ciudad exporta café y azúcar, y en el pasado ha exportado otras mercancías, como zapatos y artículos tales como pelotas y bates de béisbol. Puerto Príncipe posee fábricas de procesamiento de plantas comestibles, jabón, textiles, y cemento. La ciudad también depende de la industria del turismo y las compañías de construcción para mover su economía. Dado que en Puerto Príncipe el desempleo es muy alto, sería más preciso decir que la gente está subempleada.
