Florida Trooper Arrests Miami Police Officer in Marked Car for Speeding
A Miami Police officer was arrested at gunpoint and charged with reckless driving after allegedly leading the Florida Highway Patrol on a seven-minute chase in his squad car at speeds that reached 120 mph on Florida's Turnpike in Broward County earlier this month.A highway patrol trooper pulled out her gun to arrest Fausto López, 35, after he reportedly ignored repeated warnings to stop. López could not be reached for comment. As of Saturday, he was still assigned to regular duty at the Miami Police Department, said Cmdr. Delrish Moss, "because at this point it's a traffic offense." The incident, first reported by Univision 23, started at 6:28 am Oct. 11 on the southbound turnpike at Commercial Boulevard, when a trooper, identified as DJ Watts, saw a Miami patrol car switching lanes in a dangerous manner.Watts turned on her lights and siren but couldn't reach López, who was driving more than 120 mph, the report said. At about 6:33 am, Watts caught up to López. When she pulled in back of López's car, she once again activated her lights and siren, but López ignored the warnings, according to the report, and kept going.Finally, at 6:35 am, seven minutes after the start of the high-speed chase, López stopped his car near Hollywood. An FHP video given to Univision shows Watts approaching López's car with her gun drawn. "She drew her gun for her own safety based on the actions of the driver," said Sgt. When Brown, 29, refused to leave the emergency room at St. Mary's Health Center in Richmond Heights, Mo., a suburb near inner St. Louis, the police thought she was on drugs and arrested her for trespassing. She'd already been examined, and a doctor said she was healthy enough to go to jail. The police carried her into a jail cell by her arms and ankles, her body slackened. There were a couple of beds in the cell, but they left her on the concrete floor. A couple of officers stood by the door as she writhed and moaned, and then they walked away. "They thought she was a drug seeker," an officer said later. Students tear-gassed in clashes with police in Canada
In Canada, riot police used tear gas and stun grenades to disperse hundreds of students protesting outside a government building in central Montreal. At least two demonstrators and two officers were injured in the violence and seventeen people were arrested. Students are angry at a planned 75 percent rise in tuition fees. They've been demonstrating almost daily since declaring a boycott on classes over two months ago, with the government refusing to back down. Milwaukee Police Motorcycle Roll Call at Harley-Davidson Museum
May is motorcycle safety month and when the warm weather finally arrives, there will be motorcycles all around in Milwaukee, home of Harley-Davidson motorcycles. The Milwaukee Police Department's Motorcycle Unit is out, as well. As one of few police departments nationwide that has been exclusively riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles for 102 years, Chief Flynn was joined for his hallmark Roll Call in the Street, by Bill Davidson, vice president of the Harley-Davidson Museum, and Willie G. Davidson as the Chief conducted Roll Call for MPD motorcycle officers. Watch the video and feel like you were there! About 30 Milwaukee Police motorcycle officers rode in formation into the Museum parking lot and lined up for roll call by Chief Flynn. They stood at attention for inspection of the troops by MPD commanders, joined by Bill Davidson and Willie G. Additionally, Bill Davidson addressed the officers before they were dismissed to hit the streets for patrol. The motorcycle unit has changed focus under Chief Flynn. The motorcycles, previously used almost exclusively for traffic enforcement, are now a key to the department's strategy to reduce crime, fear and disorder in the city's challenged neighborhoods. These officers make traffic stops in the city's "hotspots" and have taken guns, drugs and dangerous criminals off the streets.

Occupy Oakland video: Police use flashbangs & tear-gas against protesters

At least 300 people were arrested. The demonstrators had attempted to take over vacant buildings to use as their headquarters, they also broke into City Hall and tried to occupy a YMCA.
